Makes me feel all of the time I've wasted.

2 years ago now, one of my best friends died from cancer, whose name was also Ben, funny enough. A couple months after, I had listened to this album again and cried almost immediately upon hearing this song. I wasn't sure what stirred in me but quickly found myself thinking of my friend, so I found myself going out of my way to listen to this album, and specifically this song almost on repeat. I think of him every time I listen to it now and helped me process any grief I had issues processing with his death, previously. I love Ben Sharp for giving the world Cloudkicker and love this song for what it did for me ❤

I know this band has likely dissolved or stopped touring, but I saw them with Fang Island ten years ago at a little non-alcoholic bar in New Haven, CT. It was one of the most magical shows I've ever been to, in large part due to Zorch. The way their sound filled the space and drew you in...I can always listen to the album, but it will never capture that feeling quite right. Hope they're doing well wherever they are.

as a drummer this song fucking messes with me, what even in the fuck is this time signature? the beat starts as 15/16, then 16/16, then 15/16 then 16/16 and so on, and all beats are divided into groups of 9 and 6 or 7, assuming the beat starts at the beginning of the song and the first group of 9 isn't an anacrusis. which means the beginning section is 31/32 until 00:46 in the song. then it shifts to 12/8, goes back to 31/32 after a few bars, and at 1:42 the drummer just randomly plays 7 and a half beats? the bridge is in 4/4, until 2:20, where it alters between 10 bars of 4/4 and 9 bars of 4/4 + 1 bar of 3/4, so basically 7/8 with 8 bars of 4/4. my guy, what in fuck
