    Thank you. This came at a moment I was having doubt/anxiety about the pro per civil case I have pending here in San Luis Obispo county against the neighbor with shocking animal cruelty case that the country animal services manager, Eric Anderson, refused to correct/enforce. The one German Shepherd dog died in this case. The case is even more extensive... The local ordinance has been changed/updated in 2023 as a result of the public outcry but the new ordinance is so vague it is unconstitutional. It is unconstitutional federally and unconstitutional under the State of California. Now I have to continue with a county lawsuit if the board of supervisors are unwilling to comply.

    The wild horses are currently being rounded up by cruel and inhumane helicopter roundups which causes them to get serious injuries and being chased by the helicopters in the blistering heat to the point of total exhaustion and possible death.

    Cool presentation. Thanks for sharing. It can feel so overwhelming to start to feel the weight of all the suffering animals, and even insects experience. It makes it kinda hard to move. I don’t really know what to do with those feelings, despite knowing on some level that I’m biased in that I don’t imagine the weight of the positive experiences they might have. Idk :(

    “God Has Come To You!” The promise of eternal life is the result of God coming to us instead of humans trying to find and meet Him somewhere far away. From the beginning, God has loved each of us with an unconditional and undying love. His original intention was to have a solid and living relationship with each of us. However, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden, their sins created a barrier between us and God. We are separated from Him forever. Instead of allowing us to continue to distance ourselves from Him, God created a perfect plan for recovery-one motivated by His infinite love and mercy for us. The goal of His plan is to completely restore even the most intimate aspects of His relationship with mankind as it existed before Adam and Eve sinned. More than 2,000 years ago, God sent His Son to earth to remove the barrier caused by sin and make salvation available to all. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent his Son into the world, not to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17 Through his death and resurrection, Jesus paid the full penalty of sin on our behalf and removed the barrier between us and God. This forgiveness is available to all who fully accept Him as their Savior. But this is just the beginning. Before completing His time on earth to join His Father in Heaven, Jesus described to His disciples another important element of God's larger plan. to completely restore humanity to Himself: “In my Father's house (Heaven) there are many dwelling places; otherwise, I would have told you. I'll go and prepare a place for you. When I have gone, and have prepared a place for you, I will return and take you with me, that where I am, there you may also be." John 14:2-3 God not only sent Jesus to remove the barrier of sin, but one day in the future, Jesus will return to bring all believers “home” to be with Him forever. . The Bible says: The time of the fulfillment of the kingdom of God is near, so Repent and Receive the Good News. " ....

    Beautifully orated ideas! I’ve been connecting the ideas of what we value and why to how respond because of our ideas of what’s valuable - we can actively consider something/someone “life” but not treat it/them as such. We’ve followed narratives that has taught us how to survive. Things we considered necessary at one point, may have now reveal itself as unnecessary. Ok, I’m getting wordy… lol - dope talk Syl! Keep doing your thing! Infinite love and continued good vibes 🙏🏾❤️

    I wonder why exactly race is singled out here. This works the same for other forms of human-human oppression, right? Women have historically been linked to animals as well, as have homosexuals, and the disabled, and probably a long etc. "Animal" is in many contexts, and in relation to humans, used as an insult. So I don't really understand why the conclusion is "you should have anti-racist considerations in your animal advocacy", in particular? This is a genuine question, by the way. The notion of "animal" is racialised, yes, and it is also sexed, and and and. Isn't it?

    • @cosmicnoir
      @cosmicnoir 2 года назад

      Yes, and nothing in the lecture excludes those other oppressions. Black people and other racialized groups still have distinct experiences that aren't reducible to sexism, homophobia, class, etc. It's not singling out, just detailing If she were to try to give the same attention to every other possible type of domination she wouldn't be able to say much about any of them here. There are other times, places, and people for that. No one can do it all, especially not in one presentation. This is just about race because that matters too, but it's not nearly considered enough You can also check out her book Aphro-ism, written with her sister, which specifically discusses how all these forms of oppression in colonialism are connected through animality. Carol J. Adams, the author of The Sexual Politics of Meat, even wrote the afterword for it

    Will edit throughout: 1 - Sort of interesting concept? But it's really dumb and kinda goes against basic science of biology... failure in blatant garbage of vegan dogma. 2 - You called yourself a philosopher when you lack the years of wisdom and no philosopher would call themselves that in such a rub off manner. 3 - We do develop a moral compass to animals, it comes from our evolution, is it food based (cow, deer...), is it a threat (bear, shark), is it friend (dog, cat) or mix (horse, cattle...). 4 - Discrimination is a good thing. To suggest otherwise is really low IQ thinking. No, I'm not relating to inferiority but of preference. I wouldn't date a clumsy person, I find that unattractive and annoying. I wouldnt bring the average woman to lift a car, I'd bring men (for biology obvious reasons). This is expandable, animal is food as it of substance, nutrition, and is NOT a pet level animal (dog, cat, etc). 5 - Humans are NOT inferior to other animals BUT are above the farm animal on the food chain... like this biologically known so if this part is important to your idea... yikes. Darwin is rolling in his grave. 6 - Of course the frickin similarities between us and humans. And OF COURSE we value humans more than most animals, it's called a society, a part of frickin biological structure of our being. Wolves, elephants, and so on share the same outlook and wont commit cannibalism (unless pushed to). 7 - You seriously cannot answer this question subjectively... that removes things away from facts and into fiction. So you've ditched even philosophy since it doesnt even rely on such fiction.

    No worries. Soon White people will be so marginalized that they may as well be extinct. And then there will be no more racism or hate, amirite? Quite the contrary, looking at all animals objectively, humans should be discriminated against (because we do the most harm). Utilitarian speciesism, or species objectivism, redefined. 😁 I prefer Tom Regan's deontological approach for that reason. Yes, racism and speciesism, have the same fundamental dark seed (even if it's expressed slightly differently). Go Veganarchism!
