    Two rules I break are tying a knot, because I am careful to not pull to much of that back end forward, and 50cm thread, I use double that in most things, but I also have very long arms and am too lazy to thread needles more often 😂

    • @iheartstitchart
      @iheartstitchart Месяц назад

      With this method of backing, no... you'd need a new hoop for the next project. But there are many other ways to display a finished embroidery and in that case you'd re-use the hoop. :)

    Oh my goodness I just found your videos and I am only half way through this one but you are amazing and such a good teacher. I am house bound now and spend many hours sitting on the couch so I wanted another option to do crafts and just got my first embroidery project today and literally found you when I searched for beginner stitching. I will save this video and play it over many times as I learn all the beautiful stitches. How kind of you to do this video for us for free. Thank you so much ✨🥰✨

      Hi Christine, yes, it's very secure. I mean, if you punch it or use it as a ping pong paddle, it's going to come loose, but for display purposes - like hanging on a wall - it's completely secure! :D

    do you knot embroidery thread?

    • @iheartstitchart
      @iheartstitchart Месяц назад

      You tie a knot at the end of your thread, to anchor it. There are also ways to anchor it without a knot, but for beginners I recommend just using a knot! Not sure if that answers your question but I hope that helps. :)

    I’ve only watched 1/3 so far, of this video, and I can tell already, it’s going to be my Bible when it comes to Learning Embroidery. I have this thing for embroidered cream colored wild flower pillow covers. I cannot find anything in my linking, online. So, like I have always told my daughters,’ if you can’t find what makes your heart skip a beat, make it.’ That seems to be what gets me passed my decorating my home plateau. I hope at least one person gets what I’m sayin. 😊 hope everyone here is having a great evening August 24th at 6:43 pm Michigan time! 🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️❤️ ❤❤

    What kind of fabric do you suggest?

    • @iheartstitchart
      @iheartstitchart 2 месяца назад

      I like linen or cotton, anything with some heft but also a bit of a looser weave! Essex Linen is a great one to start with, usually found in any quilting fabric store; there are lots of options online as well. I sell some different types but I also recommend just going to your local fabric store and looking around. :)
