Quite obvious foot-dragging on the part of Immigration and Departure personnel led to my discovery that one can actually BUY a pass (roughly $30 USD for arrival or departure) to get through the oft hours-long waits to get in or out of airside. Just another reason people visit Vietnam, but never come back
