@@rshmnz funny you should mention... Normally business that rely on tourism are happy to see tourists... However, that's against the WEF and media narrative...

@@TheJon2442 you are both correct. Most place people are happy with tourists, but in some places there is over tourism that influences negatively the daily life of locals. Siracusa is still ok. But try to go to Amalfi, or Venice… there you have the opposite

@@Aurelian.way.808 - No, Sicily are magic, ´cause they know, that taking care of their legacy is the best gift, they can give us, who are visiting their magical island. They are quite aware of they have an island, with a big importance to others. As a Dane, livng my childhood in Copenhagen, I can see, what it means, when the past are being neglected by investors without a sense of history and culture. The politicians i Copenhagen plays along, and Copenhagen has totally lost its magic - even TIVOLI, magical to many people has been transformed into something horrible without a sense of its history. That must not happen to Sicily!

@@Danishwoman1 you talk about mass tourism? In that optic most of Sicily is still “organic”. I read the history of Sicily written by Norwich. It recommend it to you, it is a true eye opener! Sicily could be one of the richest regions in Italy (it used to be one of the richest in Europe!!) if they only had competent politicians. The book is truly fascinating and completely changed my view on the island. I will visit it again in September 😃😃
