During World War I, Italian soldiers built these routes so troops could move quickly and safely over the mountains. While most of the world’s via ferrata were built for tourism, these are historically significant-you can still see relics such as dugouts and trenches along the routes. We really enjoyed making our way along them and had a brilliant time doing so… we must have done something to pl...

i like your storrytelling style and "If you love adventure and breathtaking nature views, you should definitely visit Manang, Nepal! 🏔🌿 It's a paradise for travelers with its stunning landscapes and thrilling trekking routes. Highly recommended! 🌄✨"
Thank you so much! Appreciate your words. Nepal is an incredible place for so many reasons, most of all the people. I haven't made it to manning yet, but I will put it on the list. I visited Lo Manthang a few years ago, that was incredible, like riding on the moon. (not that ive done that!)
Great narration, loved the video. The himalayan range is a newer formation and hence quite weak geologically. The amount of rain and snow and melt stream that Ladakh gets, the roads get wrecked every year near the passes especially. Monsoon is basically landslide season. Hence you see plenty of construction post monsoon everywhere.
@@the_drifter-bw9hj thank you! Appriciate it. Crazy how much work they have to do to these roads! Incredible experience riding them
And sorry- nothing intelligent in what the French girl did. Himalaya is a VERY demanding bike trail that people should not attempt without expet riding skills, especially trained in high altitude rding. I have been VERY concerned about tourists who under-estimate the demanding skills required- they may end up facing a tragic situation. Better to spend several months riding and special training before attempting somehting like this.
@@sunilbose1753 I agree with you, not the smartest move. Definitely could have done with some more training. Great to see people chasing their dreams though. She got to Padum and decided to turn back - hopefully she got back safe and well 🙏
What time of year do you recommend for this motorcycle trip? And where did you rent them? Excellent video. I hope to be able to make this trip in 2025
@@DePaseoNacho we borrowed a bike from a friend and bought one in Delhi. However there are many places to rent them out in leh. We did this trip at the end of June. The pass had only just opened
@Camtreble And what time of year did you make the trip?
@@DePaseoNacho our trip was through the month of June
Fun fact on road construction- India had a deliberate policy of not building too much infrastructure in the area- there was a risk that Chinese would use the infra to do incursions in case of a war. 10 years ago that policy was reversed and we decided to be more aggressive. A lot of these roads are now being built by the Border Roads Org with the indian army to facilitate Troop and Tank movements. The Army not only supports the bikers who now use these roads but also protect and presvrve the unique culture of the region. If the Chinese had taken over, they would have converted Ladakh into a rubber stamp culture overseen by the CCP.
@@sunilbose1753 awesome fact! Makes a lot of sense at to why there is so much construction going on. - I will include this fact in my next video on the spiti valley 🙏
One of the best travelogues on Zanskar valley!

@@navgoraya3198 Hi nav! I used the DJI mini 2 - quite old and reasonably cheap now. The mini 4 is a huge step up and I would recommend that - upper mustang is the trip of a lifetime, lomantang is super special. The dust there feels like riding on the moon! Have a great trip dude.

I just came back from my Sept.-2024 Spiti Circuit Tour. Amazing. A question was your tour in 2024? So many foreigners went to Umlingla in 2024. Shouldn't be blocked for foreigners anymore and stay in Hanle as well in 2024
@@tomthaiger that’s good to know! We did the tour in 2023. Glad to hear they have changed it now, it gives us a good reason to go back!
If you like cliffhanger roads and stunning forests with epic drops, do the Himachal circuit, it's much greener as it's about 2-4km altitude wise. I recommend the Manali - Kaza - ReckongPeo - Shimla circuit through stunning valleys like Spiti. There are several variations in it, but usually called the Spiti Circuit. Cheers and safe travels.
@@the_drifter-bw9hj awesome advice! Appriciate it 🙏 from what I can see it is the spirit circuit (like you’re saying!) our adventure continued and we did Zanskar valley which I’m editing now.. then spiti valley before heading back to Delhi! It was a great journey. I can’t wait to go back to India at some point
@Camtreble oh great then, you did most parts of the circuit. The cliffhanger section I was talking about is in Kalpa district, and specifically from Chitkul to Kalpa (Sangla valley) plenty more in Uttarakhand for you to ride as well. 🤟🤟
