Vermont National Guard
США
Добавлен 16 мар 2014
The Vermont Army National Guard began on October 24, 1764, when the town of Bennington, Vermont elected to form a militia company to protect their property from land speculators in New Hampshire and New York. Other towns soon followed suit and formed militias of their own. These small units later banded together into The Green Mountain Boys, led by Ethan Allen. The Green Mountain Boys fought to protect settlers’ interests and then for independence from British rule.
The Vermont Air National Guard formed as the 134th Fighter Squadron in Burlington, Vermont, on July 1, 1946. The 134th is descended from the 530th Fighter Squadron “Yellow Scorpions,” which flew during World War II.
At home and abroad, the men and woman of the Vermont National Guard stand ready to serve.

P.O.W & M.I.A Ceremony 2024
Full Ceremony:
Today at Camp Johnson, the Vermont National Guard honored the courageous service and sacrifices of our P.O.W./M.I.A. Veterans during a solemn remembrance ceremony. Maj. Gen. Gregory Knight, the Adjutant General of Vermont, was in attendance to pay tribute alongside Guard members and guests.
We were deeply honored to have two former prisoners of war with us: Mr. Richard Hamilton, a WWII Veteran from the U.S. Army Air Corps, and Mr. Ralph McClintock, a Vietnam Veteran from the U.S. Navy's U.S.S. Pueblo. Their resilience and bravery remind us of the unwavering commitment our service members make to defend our freedoms.

Delta Company, 3-172nd: Sling Load Chinook Training
This is where all men should go to. Hats off to these soldiers!
is this what will be as National Guard?
BTW, No doubt the Canadian Armed forces knows a lot about cold weather military training. BUT the Canadian "army" is so tiny =, even in relation to Canada's small population, that it would be laughable if it were not so sad. CANADA NEEDS TO BUILD A MILITARY FROM AT LEAST 2% OF ITS GDP, NOTTHECURRENT 1.25%. As a NATO nationCanada is a SLACKER of the first order.
We're going to need more of these type of exercises. No doubt
Call sign “Weed.”
Something tells me we're (CANADA/USA) going to need this training soon.

It's ironic the Army Mountain Warfare School is in Vermont since they really don't have any real mountains there, just big hills.
Is that why it is called the Green Mountain State?
Can we bring personal rucks to the course as long as they are OCP or coyote Brown?
I went back in May, they are pretty flexible. There were dudes running around with tactical Taylor’s and mystery ranch packs. Your boots don’t have to be AR670-1 either.
@@jaydenkrehbiel7694 awesome thank you so much. I go in Feb
Training huh? This is a pathetic example of the training bestowed upon men like Harold newland who trained u right, this chit is a joke! This NEW GUARD and its standards are a laugh!
GIVE me a break! I was raised by REAL VT national guardsman/women....what we have now is a JOKE!
Vermont is awesome. Born here, ill die here.
It was a great pleasure to meet you in Vienna at the U.S. Embassy

My experience has been that in the field the French Canadian soldiers prefer to speak French. Was that an issue here?
I think if that Major is an actual "Platoon Commander" his career has been interesting...where's that video...
From 35° F to -35° F !! 😮🥶🧊👏💪💥🔥🇺🇸🇨🇦
definitely gets colder than -35 here. The date was January 23, 1935. The location: Iroquois Falls, located 55 km northeast of Timmins and 40 km south of Cochrane, ON. The value was a minus 58.1°C (minus 73°F)
Is this the 3-172nd Infantry?
Thrive in this environmrnt are you sure ?
🇺🇸👍🙂
Ice Station Zebra. Don’t even recall if any side won
Maj jason beams isn't shaved undisciplined soldier it shows the sgt is also undisciplined come nasty girls you can do better
I do not understand the lack of grooming regulations. Why have standards fallen with bearded soldiers?
men have facial hair. canadians are allowed
Snowmobiles, tents, stoves, hot meals provided, medical care/ evacuation at the ready and having everything you need brough to you/provided is not survival, its endurance ..
I was going to say vacation shit my friends build snow caves with no heat and sleep overnight to test our equipment
"To endure is to survive..." ☝️
bro you really think they're going to go out there and survive with no tent no food no vehicle no stove no heat??? you're wildly living in a fantasy... where are the tree's? what will berries will you pick? where is the deer/elk? how are you going to fish????? get a grip dude.
I've been on this course for an entire month and it sucks so badly and living there without a tent, hot food and essentials is just 'restarted' and not what militaries do idiot.
How say you're stupid without saying you're stupid
How can bearded soldiers be combat effective???????
Ask the Mujahidin.
you're joking right?
@@120bank8No, he’s not. CBRN protective masks ( gas masks) don’t work with a beard. If a Soldier has a beard and gets hit with a chemical or biological weapon, he just dies.
Probably got a winter waver due to being great at dealing with sub zero temps
@@Maryland_Kulakwell considering the temperatures there aren’t many CBRN threats. A beard in the far north is actually a good thing. The equipment the Canadians are issued is decent for operating in the far north compared to what was issued in the 90’s early 2000’s. Oh and there isn’t a CBRN mask out there that is effective at -40…..
That big .50 BMG may someday soon be replaced by a SIG .338 Norma magnum heavy machine gun. Same max range but FAR lighter and still capable of anti-materiel use. BTW-> The Canadian Armed Forces winter sleep system is unique and worth a look. "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." (Norwegian saying)
Not a chance. The .50 Browning isn't going anywhere until the next gen hurdles of firearms tech (ignition) are achieved.
There is only a few Is true cold weather armies in the world and Norway and Canada are one of them. Surprisingly enough Russia and United States is not. That means any unit in the Canadian forces can operate in −35 nonsense.
@@1joshjosh1 The US 10th Mountain Division and an Alaskan National Guard unit are every bit as good as any Canadian arctic trained outfit, AND A HELL OF A LOT BIGGER!

I am a vermonter and plan on joining the national guard, I'm actually a boyscout so I will get instantly promoted, and we also had some military events with boyscouts like we went to a military fort one time, had a black hawk come to boyscout camp, went into the national guard base at Burlington International Airport, we have 2 scout masters/ex scout masters who are military
P R O M O S M 😴
LOL , US reserve Guard Units are better equipped than full time regular Canadian units in Canada’s Arctic. If Canadians are serious they need to up their game , get survivable Arctic equipment for their regular force instead of sponging off the US National Guard. US has Arctic training out Wainwright , Alaska and Mountain Division.
The 35th Canadian Brigade Group is an army reserve brigade group, not a regular force brigade group
BS
Great video! Love seeing our brothers to the south come train with us!
Lol. USA-Extreme cold weather training Ex, Canadian Forces- Tuesday. Not knocking them, we all got strengths. EDIT, Like that c130 on skis!!!

The beginning looks straight out of top gun, awesome.
Was at the mountain warfare school in Bridgeport California in 94. Kurt Cobain ended his life while I was attending. They can keep that cold weather

A jrtc rotation during July /August is no joke! Plus the oct’s are ruthless but very knowledgeable. Just drink water and stay motivated. Don’t forget to pack extra tobacco even if you don’t smoke cuz you will or dudes will run out and will buy a pack for $20 or more… I’ve seen it. Lol
