I bought the same copy of A Study in Drowning because of your recommendation! And I'm realizing just now that your content also resulted in me buying Metal Slinger.... I am easily convinced Haven't read either yet, but I am excited!
I think I'm adopting productive lollygagging as a term now. 😂 I have read so many books lately that have felt very similar! This is my next read, though, so I'm glad to hear you liked it enough to read book 2. I do hope that going forward, having editing and being traditionally published will help with the small things, though! I'm still excited to read it.

watching now, I have an indie copy of this one... but was intimated by the size- thank you for sharing your thoughts, it might be moved up on my tbr in 2025, I need something unique to avoid the dragon storm hype- I am a sucker for all things stars/fate/layers of myth.
I have to balance my reads with non typical fantasy romances too or else they just get all jumbled into one blob
I loved Quicksilver, especially once it all started making sense! My most anticipated in no particular order are Onyx Storm, Alchemised, The Ballad of Falling Dragons, Rose in Chains, Kingdom of the Forgotten and the Knight & the Moth.
How exciting! Throwing out an idea: When you were showing your “secret passage” to your library from the bedroom you mentioned you’re going to wall up the stairway on the right but what if your put a stained glass window there since to the left is a natural light window to the outside and can kinda dimly illuminate the stairwell when walking up.
