Trail Running in Hong Kong香港: Shing Mun Reservoir 城門水塘
The Shing Mun Reservoir is located in Shing Mun, the area between Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin, in the New Territories of Hong Kong. I did a nice 8.74 km run around the reservoir but definitely stopped to take photos and videos (obviously). Unlike most of Hong Kong, you'll find these amazing tall trees and forest across the park (many of them planted after WWII). Another fun feature of this trail is that you'll most likely run into some wild monkeys (they won't bother you, if you don't feed them).

Lantau Peak 鳳凰山 is arguably one of the most sought after peaks to climb in Hong Kong. Trying to sneak in a quick and easy overnight camping trip on the beautiful island of Tap Mun (Grass Island) before the weather in Hong Kong gets too hot and humid. Found a small, abandoned trail in Hong Kong earlier this month while out looking for interesting spots within the city. It seems like it was a trail for a local Scout Group that has been abandoned for quite some time, as it is wonderfully covered in trees, shrubs, and moss. Woke up at 6am to hike Mount High West in Hong Kong. If you go off trail, especially at the top of the summit, it can get sketchy as I found out that morning. Big gusts of wind and loose rocks are a bad combination anywhere, let alone on top of a windy mountain. If you walk along the ridge path, you'll definitely need to focus. Love this. How does the tent fare in terms of condensation? Is it well ventilated in your opinion?
It was fine for me but I didn't try it in the height of summer (Hong Kong can get very humid). I made sure to keep the tent door open with just the mesh closed for ventilation. A lot has to do with where you will be camping. But it's double walled so it should fare better than a single wall tent!
