OK, I owned one for years--downsides? yeah, and every hull--every one has them so I'm not knocking it, it was a great boat. Mine had the hard top, that with the hull design means it bobbed way up in the water, on one occasion we were going to Catalina, but the wind came up. WE WERE GOING--NOWHERE the wind pushed up dead even, after an hour we had gone--one mile, spun around and the wind pushed us back to port in 15 minutes. On the other hand, safe safe safe boat. But that same day, a nice Grady passed us like we were standing still, laying much lower and heavier in the sea, we road up and down the large swells. Never felt threatened--and one thing he glossed over, the in deck storage is incredible, never seen deck storage so large in a boat that small. Suggestions? Yeah, if you get one, get a skip tower--less wind resistance AND go with a 140 or 150, max HP. That WILL mitigate some of the problem I mentioned. Mine had a 115--and it was a great boat. Not perfect--what is, but a great boat--to boot, easy to tow as it is light. Still, while I am at it, go with a DUAL axle trailer, mine had a single. Why? Because with a dually, you have "overkill", meaning if you are camping, you can load it up with "stuff" and still be fine, 2, if you have a flat at speed you may not even notice it until you stop. Try that with any single axle trailer.
I had an Arima for many years, but why don't keep that driver dry? How much would it cost to extend the sides with 10"? just an opinion.
Looks like the Defiance 195 Yellowtail. Both look great 👍🏾

I have a 1993 19 foot sea ranger and I love that it has the skip top and the wrap around canvas. We have camped in it at Neah bay Sekiu lake Roosevelt lake and lake Washington. Nothing like waking up with the sun on the boat.

Can't beat an Arima if you're serious about ocean fishing. Incredibly stable fishing platform. Brought me home from some really tough weather, always feel safe in my 21.

I downloaded the Arima brochure last night. These are impressive. The same guy who owns Defiance boats bought Arima, apparently. Mind if I ask what you paid for this bad boy? Also, is there enough room in that cuddly for my 5’10” frame to sleep along with my somewhat shorter wife?
@@melodymakermark I paid $50k plus tax With honda 115. Unless you're under 5ft tall this boat would be very uncomfortable. I use the forward area for storage. The sea ranger series has full sized bunks.
@@MrJakemetz that’s a good value. It looks live one helluva boat, like I’d feel safe in it many miles from shore, like a Boston Whaler. Yeah, I’m gonna need something that will offer the Mrs. a reasonable amount of comfort. I wish they’d offer yours with a foot more cuddy and a foot less cockpit, because I absolutely love the looks of this Yellowtail. Congrats, Captain, and enjoy.
