I bought these skis in pieces so I'm still finding non-motor problems. The black ski quit on me at the end so I had to break out the paddle. It had starter issues before dunking it and the negative batt terminal smokes during start. It still turns over. Going to replace the starter and test wiring next.

How did that impeller work for you with your engine specs? I have a B1 with a ported and bored 61X/62T still with the stock impeller, and it only does about 47 MPH. I’m looking at getting a Solas 13/19 since I want better acceleration and top speed. I want to get into the 50’s at least.
I have the same year and model. did you have any problem accessing parts? Did you do the work or take to shop?
Nice, that lake was all yours to 🤙
It looks like the bottom areas where the doors meet- when closed- need some bracing. If the wind blew directly at the doors when closed, it looks like they would collapse inward.
Everything has been Cane bolted since a day after this video and has lasted several years without any issues. It's in comments above
Can you suggest where to get the hardware? I can't seem to find more than a 6' length
I’m building a set of these, but having trouble finding the hardware for the box rail pivot hangers. Could you let me know where to buy? Thank you so much! ~Alice

Thank you so much! Your doors look great! @@ethanl2582
We bought a new GP1200R in 2000, the silver/ white version. reg AB 8597. The best we ever had..
I love the way they ride but getting to the carbs is a nightmare without aftermarket pipes. Definitely one of the best feeling skis when everything's running right.
How much you pay? I’m in the market for one
We paid £6700 for it brand new. The original Millenium edition launched in 2000. Brilliant ski and now wished I never sold it..
Running good!
Water is so calm! I want to get my gpr there.
I’m thinking of getting a pair
How fast do they go
This one GPS'd at 56mph during this video. Google shows the XLT1200's go 58 stock.
Making similar now. Hanging each frame at top on center to avoid any sag (not like he's done) but with same hardware. Four doors, 39" wide 14' tall. Tie left pair and right pair with door hinges.
Great concept, but if you used 2 by's it wouldn't have so much flex
Nice ski. I’ve got the same one, currently building it back up. Siezed the front cylinder at the end of the summer last year. How do you have the gauge wired, I’ve got an xlt one in mine as well
The wiring was compatible for mine but the mount itself needed some fabrication. I fully reccomend both OsideBill mods; OsideBill Accell pump bypass mod, OsideBill Drilled return pressure balancing mod. They make tuning easy with fewer exhaust removals and really safeguard the motor.
I can’t find this kind of bifold garage rail anywhere
Sorry, I'm not a pro RUclipsr. This was in a comment below " “I used National #168-815 Flex Hangers and National N105-726 5116 Plain Box Rail from Amazon”. I found the rails on amazon and the flex hangers at Ace Hardware and Lowes."
@@ethanl2582 thx man very hard find bifold that can carry weight. Those are perfect thx I found them on Amazon.
Looks cool and saves on the ceiling space. But it doesn't look secure.
Did you make these Doors ? Ethan
I’ve been looking for years and just seen yours today. Any updates on this bifold door? Hopefully I’ll be able to build one in 2022.
Thanks for putting this video out, Ethan. It's simple, quick, and really helpful. How has the National Hardware held up? Any oxidation? Do the doors still open smoothly?
The hardware is holding up excellent, no problems whatsoever. The doors have faded toward the bottom where water splashes back up but they are still solid. Cedar frames and T1-11 treated with Waterlox
Thanks for the good example of those. I do plan on making somthing similar over here.
Could you tell me what hardware you used and most importantly where to get it?
Great Job Ethan
Hey Ethan, it looks like that is an under-mount box rail system. I have only seen face and top mount systems. How did you secure your rail and did you offset it? Love the doors mate!
Best DIY bifolds I have seen! Do you care to share the hardware you used? I would like to attempt doing the same set up. thank you in advance.
What is the size of each door panel? This is an awesome work btw.
That's a nice looking trail for me to try.
Hi. What editing software do you use? I like your ride details on the screen.
I just used the software that came with the Sony Action Cam. "Action Cam Movie Creator" it offers several GPS layover modes and designs
Looking to have a bar built up at the lake in a shed. I'm looking at my options for the bar doors which will span 9 feet. Bi-folding makes sense. What is your complete kit you decided to use? Would love to send you a private message if its possible with several questions.
The scratching sound isn't good, there's the air/waterproofing seal?
Very awesome man and do a garage door opener on ot too whenever you get a chance it works two different setups installing it parallel with the doors or the traditional set up but use angle push bars 😎😁👍 here’s one example ruclips.net/video/0K_l4vWMEU4/видео.html
Great job, please provide details on the rollers that you installed.
See comments below: “I used National #168-815 Flex Hangers and National N105-726 5116 Plain Box Rail from Amazon”. I found the rails on amazon and the flex hangers at Ace Hardware and Lowes.
Thank you❤
I can´t see what was used on the bottom, seems like there´s nothing, a close up would have been useful . . . I believe you don´t need a track on the bottom ? but a lock on the middle so the doors won´t wobble
Sorry for the poor video quality; I'll try to link another one with better lighting soon. There is no track on the bottom; all weight is supported by the side hinges, door hinges and the top rollers. I have added four cane bolts to the inside door bottoms since this video that drop into holes drilled into the concrete when the doors are closed. This helps security and also keeps these doors absolutely stable in high winds. The wobble in the video is from the bottom doors catching on the concrete; I loosened the hinges, propped/shifted the doors higher and re-tightened the hinges to open up space while moving.
@@ethanl2582 .. thanks for responding, it´s a good video just a bit dark and a bit far from the doors and very brief . . some people want more talk and explanations . . greetings
You need a track on the bottom
Nice job. Did you have any problem with the rollers in the hangers touching in the middle?
Thanks ForkshooterTB. The rollers were installed in a location on the tops where they could fully spin around without going over the inner edge of the doors so they never come close to each other; probably about 2" gap between them when both doors are closed. The only problem I've had so far is high wind slightly opening the hinged, center section of each door set. I use two National Hardware N177-188 V835 Cane Bolt's to lock each door set closed into the floor and I may have to buy another pair of bolts to also lock each hinged pair, center to prevent this part from tugging out.
@@ethanl2582 Thanks for the reply. Good information.
FatBike wheels sound good hitting the dirt!!
Trying this, wish me luck lol
Have been trying to find a tutorial on how to do this online and am having a tough time. Care to share some tips?
Hi Ryan, I couldn't find a good guide either and really just had to rely on pictures. The main thing worth mentioning is that the outer doors (the ones hinged to the wall) will need to be a few inches shorter than the inner doors to compensate for the size and swing of the hinges. I knew my center and used a few pieces of 2x4 and a ruler to find the right lengths. Heavy duty pivot brackets that sink into the ground and top would eliminate this size difference. I'll try to make a better video once it warm up.
what did you use for the track on top?
Hi Anna, I used National #N168-815 Flex Hangers and National N105-726 5116 Plain Box Rail from Amazon
Bummer, but the video that you did capture was cool!
Thank you; I'll bring extra batteries next time :)
