I’ve even thought of that, but now you mention it, I can see where you’re coming from! The platforms and the tracks looks somewhat similar. I would love to go abroad and see some other trains too

@D_Loves_TrainsI did not no. I do want to at some point in the future, would love to see some 373s. I was rather confined with time especially with days being soo short in winter. It’s pitch black at half past 4

@ yes the 373s are definitely worth a visit they sound awesome when the accelerate, I can also suggest King’s Cross for the IETs and occasional class 91&mk4 set

Are they ? I've been told the 80x trains are to replace the mostly relocated voyagers (Crosscountry mostly but I suspect that Grand Central will get a few.)

@D_Loves_Trains Fair enough . I imagine it would have been quite well known if the Pendolinos are being replaced and besides a number of sections have no replacement stock that's cleared for example Crewe/Stoke-Manchester and Preston-Carlisle-Glasgow/Edinburgh .

A simple rainproof coat did suffice, as it hadn’t rained very hard or at all on this day. I got quite lucky with the weather really!

They really do, this is a very good reason why I will never wear headphones onboard one of these units. Their power system comprises eight (one for every axle in the driving coaches, with the middle coach being an unpowered trailer) Holec DMKT 52/24 asynchronous three-phase AC traction motors being fed through an Alstom IGBT-VVVF traction system, which was fitted in 2016 to replace the Holec GTO-VVVF system while maintaining the iconic sound.

They really are! Their absolutely revolutionary! Making 500 horsepower more than a Class 55 Napier Deltic, while only weighing at 75 tonnes is insane!!!

Yes indeed it is. Keswick was where I was heading to when I took this video. Neat little town. I love visiting there & Derwent Water, when it doesn’t rain that is. Led Zeppelin is a cracking band. It’s a shame they really don’t make music like they used to. I’ll always prefer the oldies.
