Beautiful finds! Congrats on that big one! I like it when you hold the rocks close to the camera so I can see the details. 😊
Nice finds!! Put the doggy in the thumbnail for the video and increase view count by 1000% :)
That was such a beautiful fun day and that video takes me right back there. I think I could do that everyday for the rest of my life. That's one of the days I think about when I'm at work and it gets a little dull. Montana, the river you, Kim, Abby dog I love it all. My wife and I will be back. Looking forward to the next video keep up the great work
Awesome finds and as always thank you for sharing.
some great stones mate
@@pkgoldopalhunting thanks for watching!
8:17 the beautiful yin and yang jasper has eyes too! An orbicular jasper! Though he's a little beady eyed, it's still beautiful. Cab that baby up!
@@RickSmith-kp3sy one of my favorite jaspers I’ve cut, I do plan on making something with it, thanks for watching!
Man, you found a ton of limb casts today. And what a pair of chonkers! Dolly would be proud!😅 Loved the TSA with the druzy too. Don't know that I've ever seen that combo before. But that don't mean much.😂
@@RickSmith-kp3sy it was a fun day, definitely a memorable one, thanks for watching!
Awesome video and haul for both you and Bob. Love the aerial scans of the riverbed. Be safe.😊

Wow. This is a beautiful video. Was this all in one day? Looks like you had a great time!
@@RodEubank it was in one day, about 4-5 hours actually, it was a great day, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
I take my dogs to the creek sometimes... The snakes were a little too much this year and they love finding them 😂 The TSA is amazing... I love the stuff you find.. great channel
@@AlabamaUSA1234 yeah them dogs know how to find trouble sometimes, gotta look out for them, glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Timestamp 21:53 epic 😎 and this entire hunt was amazing stuff! Happy hunting always. Love the pup 🐶 she's so Chilled, charming and sweet.

@@Grandmasrockin yeah we did find some, I’m sure we missed some also, thanks for watching!
I liked them all. The double and the bot ones were cool but I also liked the solid pink ones. Never seen that. Thanks Matt!!!!
@@Grandmasrockin thanks for watching!
Liked all the cuts, even the ones that weren't the best geodes. I wonder how rare the little crystal ball is: or is it fairly common to someone who cuts a lot of geodes.
I have no idea if it is common or not, but i thought it was pretty neat, thanks for watching!
Great geodes. My favs are 7:41 min and 12: 30 minutes in.
Thanks for watching!
Those turned out great! Not sure about picking a favorite because I liked almost all of them! Thanks for sharing ❤
Glad you enjoyed them, thanks for watching!
Very nice prairie agates, no wonder it gets confusing. Thanks for sharing ❤
It sure can at times, thanks for watching!
Love the little ball of points. Nice cutting.
Thanks for watching!
Nice cutting session!! I can't find any uncut geodes on the Rock Shed page. Did you get those from their online store?
@@michaelc6817 no I didn’t, I got them from the actual store location. I thought they sold some uncut rock online but I could be mistaken. Thanks for watching!
Okay, gotta start with a totally weird a@& comment right off the bat. There looks to be a hair or something like that in the very first geode you cut. How in the wide world of sports could that have gotten in there???? And were there smoky quartz crystals in the one that was your 1st favorite, or amethyst? Cool video as always! And thanks for the UV light show at the end! Geodes can be absolutely alien looking under UV!!
@@RickSmith-kp3sy I think the hair was just a piece of the plastic blade guard that bumped the blade in person I don’t remember seeing Smokey quartz but I’m gonna have to double check now, thanks for watching!
This was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing.
@@philstover2422 Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Kool geodes !
@@fossilguy21 Thanks for watching!
Nice ones, especially the second one you cut!! Have you figured out how to get the polish you like from that All-U-Need Flat Lap?
@@michaelc6817 I can get a pretty decent polish with it, but I think a cab king style polisher would do better, at least easier, but then again I haven’t used it a whole lot yet either, still learning, thanks for watching!
Getting some good results out of your saw! Thanks for sharing!
@@michaelc6817 always fun to see what’s inside, thanks for watching!
That third one doesn't appear to be Botswana, maybe Swazi? The one at 17:38 and the last one would be my favorites!
@@michaelc6817 you might be right, these were all in a bin and a different one may have snuck in there, thanks for watching!
Nicely done and great reading of the one you cut as your favorite!!
@@michaelc6817 thanks! Sometimes you get it right sometimes ya don’t!
When you're finding the thin sheets like that, they're coming from seams. So if you search up hill for bedrock. There's a good chance you could find the vein that's producing them and chip some really nice pieces out. Being where you are. There's a small possibility that they were carried there from far away, and deposited by glaciers. But the Dakota's are famous for their seam agates.
@@BradleyBellwether-oy2qi thanks for the info, next time I’m around there I’ll keep an eye out, thanks for watching!
Congratulations. Lots of folks go looking with no idea of how difficult it is to find one. Lots of up and down walking. Whew. Great job.
Isn’t it illegal to take mineral specimens from a USA national park?
@@chrisstrobel3439 it is, but we didn’t get these at Yellowstone National Park, we get them many miles down river where there is public land and it is legal to collect them, thanks for watching!
Marvelous finds. You and Kim need to go to wasta next time.
@@chrissiejundt9867 we went to the wasta bridge once I think, if that’s what your talking about, otherwise we haven’t really been around there.
@JensensAdventures yes that is the place I am talking about.
@@chrissiejundt9867 ok, we didn’t really look around much when we were there, we will have to check it out!
@JensensAdventures yup you should all kinds of Fossils and agates even some Signs of fairburns there.
You had a couple that were sooo close!!! That end shot of all the colors was really pretty!
@@ceeclearly6840 bubblegum agates can be very pretty, thanks for watching!
Love the turntable display. I've seen pottery shards displayed the same way on a Scottish mudlarking video channel. ABS missed her water playground. Have you thought to go up into the Canadian Rockies? Be safe out there 😊
@@MadelineRose-ep7fj she did miss the water, we haven’t gone to the Rockies except for crystal park, it’s a little farther to go but maybe someday.
Unlike Wayward, I'd love to get some possess some bubblegum and prairie agate.I guess when you've seen it by the metric ton, it does lose some of it's magic. That's the reason he can go for the best and hound Fairburns exclusively when he's in SD.😊
@@RickSmith-kp3sy haha he covers a lot of ground, I think that’s one of the reasons he finds a lot of good ones, he would leave me in the dust😂, Fairburns are definitely the grand prize but we like to grab some of the other stuff as well, if we didn’t we wouldn’t have a video, thanks for watching!
@@JensensAdventures LOL, I think the great filmography and the drone shots fill out your videos seamlessly. One of the many things I've come to enjoy about your channel 👍❤️.
@@RickSmith-kp3sy thank you! Yeah the drone was a huge upgrade, a little adds a lot😊
Was the first stone in your "rock show " some kinda porphry? Looked like it had some big dark crystals in it. Wasn't like any porphry I've seen before, but that's like saying I know what the heck I'm talking about!😅😅😂
@@RickSmith-kp3sy I honestly have no idea what it is, it could be, it does look like crystals of some kind, it was strange because I haven’t seen anything like it in that area before, not that I know much either😂
2:36 is titanothere or oreodon teeth still in some jawbone. Out there by “the great wall” as it’s referenced in some books, are the fossil layers. Turtles, saber tooth, titanothere, oreodon and a few more species can be found. Great video so far, I’m only a few minutes in!
6:57 in that drone shot I could point to where I found my first ever Fairburn 🙂
23:57 nice shortridge host piece. Those can be found fortified like a Fairburn but they will always be that honey color and white bands, sometimes an oddball red or black band. Named after Wayne Shortridge. The difference between shortridge and Fairburn is one is microcrystalline and the other is cryptocrystalline if I remember correctly. Weta area has a bunch of that material as well as north into the Badlands and Sage Creek area. Cool stuff.
@@waywardwoodward right on, that is very interesting! Thanks for sharing the info, I don’t know a lot of detail about a lot of this stuff, I just like to look for purty things😂, we enjoy it all though, thanks for watching and sharing!
You've done it again another wonderful video thank you. Really like the footage of the sunrise. When I was in Montana I would send a picture of the sunrise to my wife it is a beautiful event over there.
@@bobjohnston1032 thanks! Yes the sunrises can be beautiful, i just got lucky where I parked so set up the camera and recorded while I unloaded the ranger, your gonna love it there when we go!
@@JensensAdventures We can't wait! I'm excited to get to meet you too. Bob really enjoyed hanging with you guys! -- Lisa Johnston
Great video bud. Love all you brought home. Prairie agates are cool. Good luck in future hunting with the fairburns.
@@JnVrockhounding thanks! If you’re ever gonna be by Rapid City and the weather is decent shoot me an email and maybe we can make something workout if the timing is right. Thanks for watching!
Very nice stuff! Though most university professor, geologist, rockhounder, collector and enthusiast would be quick (if ever) to admit it, a great amount of stone gravels-cobbles-boulders, though given odd names and classifications, are actually the petrified remains of trees! Once one handles and cuts the stone, witness the interiors, weigh the simple relative evidences, it is something quite hard to deny! Salutations and Cheers!
@@jarmyvicious bust seen this, very interesting, thanks for sharing the info and for watching!
Salutations, What a scorcher! You are lucky to have escaped this adventure without heat stroke, embedded cactua needle or poisonous snakebite! That landscape was a great study of desolation certainly, though I find the terrain beautiful if not inviting, and then, you came away with some nice stones to boot. I would bet that you have all kinds of stone laying about the perimeter of your home, planted around flower beds and guarding your gardens! I sure would love a chance to pick through your discard piles! 😉😀☺️ Sending Cheers and Blessings to You and All Yours! CIAO
@@jarmyvicious we have been lucky that we haven’t ran into any snakes yet, but we do watch for them, it is beautiful country, in the Conata Basin on this video we are actually right next to the. Badlands National Park. As for all the rocks, right now they are in buckets, but someday we do plan on having a giant rock garden, thanks for watching!
So wanted to say a few things. Loved the video of course. The rocks are gorgeous! Your side by side is so cool. And the trailer!! Wow. But mostly thank you again for sharing with us!!!! And love it when Kim smiles and maybe she can say a few words too? Now go have some more adventures!!!!
@@Grandmasrockin I’ll try and get her to talk more, this trip she ended up getting sick so she was really not into it but she tried anyways, thank you for the wonderful compliments, glad you enjoyed it!

Could the second rock you cut be stromatolite? I'm in love with this piece. By the way, 14:55 looks great in the light. I liked these random rocks.
Yeah it could be, it is sounding more and more like it is a stromatolite, very pretty, thanks for watching!
The "happy" agate 😂😅😂😅 looks like it started off as a waterline with some common opal and somehow finished up as a seam agate. Or maybe it was the other way around 🤔? Love your channel ❤❤. And your sense of humor. Keep the content coming!
@@RickSmith-kp3sy glad you enjoyed it, I agree on the opal, thanks for watching!
