All the kerfuffle over the movie version of the musical WICKED made me think of this song I first heard way back when.

didn't realize you were still doing it in 2012. saw this project multiple times before that. LOVED it. loved it. i'd moved to chicago by 2012, but here i am still seeking it out online. love to everyone involved.

Bruce needs to realize he is not in a typical "Rock & Roll" situation .....maybe it's the mix, but it seems he is clumsily stomping on everything.

Nothing against people doing well intentioned covers in homage to what has inspired them. But I find it a bit amusing to see the cultural blind spot that is prevalent among musicians, certainly the younger they are. While it seems regulation and mandatory that non US musos adopt an US west coast accent for all their material - you only have to listen to the BBC top ten show every week to hear that, and I also cite Amy Shark as adopting the textbook accent even though she's Aussie - you almost never hear the US performers doing the same courtesy and honour of dropping their accent to do covers of English music. Now I don't mean Bowie, Elton John or all those other proxy US singers who produce their music with fake US accents to begin with - but certainly Golden Hours, and all his material, is sung by Eno in his natural neutral southern English voice, it's very mellow and pleasant, with absolutely no US accent. And so I find the vocals on this grating and coarse, even though I can sense she is somehow conscious of the clash. It's a very nuanced song and requires a careful voice to adequately perform it, and I don't think this does.

Stumbled on this. Reminds me of the days of Majority Whip, Downhill Racers, A Night Of Serious Drinking (who should have been "The Knights of Serious Drinking") and a bunch of other late 90's/early 2000's Mission staples. But Waycross was head and shoulders above em all.
