'Aliens' happens to be my favourite film of all time, so I was gutted if (spoilers!) Hicks and Newt were killed off before part 3. I know this game is a stretch bringing Hicks back, but it was a nice idea. Son Son II (1989) PC Engine Turbografx Capcom ending [Retro Gaming]
This game have comics
So I've heard - I'm currently tracking the series down on eBay 👍
I used to have this game but it got scratched and since Hasbro and Activision’s collaboration has ended you can no longer buy it
Yikes, I didn't know it wasn't available on physical any more. Glad I've hung on to my copy! I'll bet prices go sky high on ebay for second hand copies now.
keep up the good work.
Thank you - cheers for watching!
A casualty of the digital age
Wanted to but couldn’t due to money constraints as a kid
Hehe, I know the feeling. I only had Megatron and Starscream back in 1984 - they took a hell of a lot of punishment and there's little left of them these days!
Nice. Love this game. Awesome video
Yeah, it's definitely one that still holds up to this day in terms of playability - thanks for watching!
Artwork ain't bad!
@@castries Yeah, worth spending your pocket money on back in the 90s to see this (although the voice acting leaves a lot to be desired!).
I think I need to check this game out
It certainly has 'perks' that Bubble Bobble doesn't! 😉
master system II was my first console, i had played others owned by friends but this the first I owned myself, some great times, shame sega went the way that it did
@@JaxDagger It was my first proper console too (only owned a ZX Spectrum before that!). I'm still going Sega will release a 'mini' version of the Master System 🫰
@@retrogamerecluse yeah my brother owned a ZX spectrum, when my step dad wasn't running chess on it and leaving it on for days on end to finish a game we sometimes got to use it haha
5 days remaining!
@@rickysingh9043 hehe, yeah, I'm already looking for sites with ROMs to add 👍
@@retrogamerecluse There's ample sites with ROMs. I've waited over 34 years to get my hands on one. I had the Amstrad CPC 464 Plus back in 1990 and i couldn't justify getting a ZX Spectrum to my parents
Absolutely solid game. My mates don’t know a lot about retro so whenever i mention games with absurd titles like this one they just look at me like i’m some sort of drug addict lol
LOL, reminds me of when I got my Dad to buy this for me for Christmas back in 1991. He said the woman in WH Smiths looked at him like he was crazy when he asked for 'Robocod!'
Extremely solid game
@@DeadOmega I know! My favourite on the system (and one of the reasons Christmas 1989 was so memorable!).

💯%💯%👍👏👏
Dont know this one. Was it fun?
Yeah, normally these old NES games cripple me with their difficulty, but this one was very playable once you got the hang of the controls and the way it played. Kind of like a fairer version of 'Ninja Gaiden!'
Love the dramatic music. Awesome video
Melhor do que muitos jogos de hoje
❤😂😮😅😊
FUN GAME!
@@manslikeaqeelsonicadvances8566 one day I'll find a way of defeating Barron Von Blubber!
@@retrogamerecluse Absolutely!
I think GB endings lacked alot of luster. Awesome video
Yeah, not many endings on the system really blow me away, but the games are just too much fun to not go back to!
Dragons Lair feel. Awesome video
Yeah, they didn't really take making computer games that seriously in those days. The game has a real 'Monty Python' feel to it!
Never got to experience this one, looks good though it's got like a Wacky Races vibe.
Yeah, it does look similar (I used to love 'Wacky Races' on the Dreamcast, but I haven't played it in ages - thanks for reminding me - I'll have to track it down!). But 'Duck Dodgers' was one of those rare 3D platform games that was actually quite playable during that generation of consoles.
Fun fact, this sound is an ost from golden axe 2 during the period between stages on the Sega Genesis
@@MrMartinJBoogie hehe, beats the meger sound effects from the old Tomytronic! 😉
@@retrogamerecluse 😉
NEVER put your fingers on the bottom of the disc. Any gamer worth their salt knows to only grip the edge and center of the disc.
@@prpenot1 lol, that would explain why every game I've owned since my ZX Spectrum days has stopped working! 😭😭😭
Do you read Japanese? Lol. Awesome video
No, sadly not - that whole text dump could be literary gold and I'd never know!
That ending song is a killer jam!
Yeah, it's a pretty good little ditty - proving the PC Engine didn't always need its CD 'big brother' to produce banging tracks 👍
Long one. Graphics look more like a PS2 game. Awesome video
I think the reason it looks a bit like a PS2 game was because they were trying to capture the look of the 'Monkey Island' sequels which were released around the time the PS2 came out.
If you know what you're doing, void bastards can be a great looter roguelike
@@virtualspooks4778 Yeah, it took me a while to get into. I tend to play anything vaguely 'Doom-like' by just running in and shooting, but this one needed a little more thinking before I shoot everything that moves! 👽
Uh, view frustum clipping problems at the mountains. Every 3d developer should practice rendering a dungeon before releasing a game.
Definitely excited to see how good the Retrogames Speccy is gonna be. 👍😎👍
I'm quietly optimistic about it as I bought both Retro Games Ltd's Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 mini and they are both excellent pieces of kit - definitely a must buy for collections and fans of the original systems. Bring on the ZX and its 'dead flesh' keyboard!
Nice end. I vaguely remember this one. Awesome video
Yeah, I only really recently heard about the series. Apparently, it was held it high regard during its time, but it must have passed me by back then. Was good though! Thanks for watching!
EA was really awesome in the late 90’s.
"A Metal Murder Carrot" 😀 Also, Fred was a Spanish game and reskinned by Amstrad for their 'Roland' series.
@@Metal_Maxine Nothing more scary than a metal murder carrot flying towards you from the deepest, darkest depths of space 😉
Never played this console as an American and growing up in the mid 80s and 90s I never seen this consoles or even heard of it until a few years back. I still get nostalgia even though I have never played it.
It was absolutely huge here in Britain throughout the 80s. Before the 'console war' of the 90s between Sega and Nintendo, we had our own three-way 'Computer War' between the Spectrum, the Commodore 64 and the Amstrad 64.' No prizes for guessing I was on 'Team Speccy!' I know these games aren't much by today's standards and it's mainly nostalgia driving the love for the system, but if you ever get the chance to play a ZX Spectrum game, I recommend 'Target Renegade' or 'Dan Dare' - both are amazing games for their limitations. Thanks for watching! ☺👍
That was super nothing. Awesome video
Takes a while to complete these old NES games - they make 'Dark Souls' look like a walk in the park!
Amiga 500 or 1200? 1200, right?
Hehe, I have to confess...A500 mini actually!
Will this game play on PS5
No, don't think the PS5 plays regular disc-based PS3 games on it. Only way would be if the Playstation store allows players to stream selected PS3 games I think.
Never heard of this one. 😮
@@dronos11 I think it was probably just released in Japan or something. I stumbled across it on Mame. It's a good little shoot 'em up. But I have no idea what the ending is all about! 😳
Nice end. Awesome video
Cheers! I never thought they'd make a game of this film until I found it on emulation!
Dreamcast Gold version 😂😂😂 retrobright emergency
This game was crazy fun
I know. It's really playable too. I can't believe how few people remember it!
Bro just took us back to the 90s
Did you also 'learn to fly' playing this? 😉
The best was always eating the other player when they turned from giant beast into a human after running out of life!
@@ryans5615 hehe, absolutely. I think I lost a lot of friends back in the late eighties due to this in-game element! 😁
Someone really liked the first Mission Impossible finale 👀
@@Cyberrat629 lol, I never noticed that, but now you say it, the similarities are definitely there 👍
I was expecting this to end on a blue screen😂
Oh, don't worry - both my Amiga and the disks I still own often don't load on the first take - it takes a long time to finally get a shot of them working (which is why I sometimes have to use footage from the same game on my Raspberry Pi!).
Always the diabolical laugh. Awesome video
Yeah, those early Playstation games weren't known for their Oscar-worthy cut-scenes! 😆
Joguei muito com meu pai, quando era pequeno. Nostalgia pura!
I know - I just loved that gun which morphed into upgraded versions of itself 👍
