When I visited this mall, it had gotten worse. It’s now around 65% occupancy, and New York & Company, Journeys, and Victoria’s Secret all recently closed. I’m very happy that the mall management has been trying to revive the mall. However, with JCPenney now gone, I feel like there isn’t much hope left. The only parts of the mall that had people were the center court, food court, and Dillard’s Clearance Center.
We had a Boy Scout camp near where the Vista Ridge amphitheater is when the mall was just opening. I remember looking out my tent and thinking how cool it looked at night with the purple and teal lights that topped off the skylights. It really is sad to see it in the state it’s in. I was in that American Eagle often just 7-8 years ago. And those “WWII Museums” seem to be a staple of dead malls. I’ve never seen one open, and they always look so creepy.
@@brianrs78 I agree. The museums and stuff like that seem to be opening up in vacant stores in dead malls. I honestly think this mall has been doomed since the days Grapevine Mills and Stonebriar Mall opened, even though it didn’t start losing a bunch of stores until the 2010s.
"Cititrends" was Structure. The upstairs WWII museum was American Eagle.
The WWII Museum was PacSun. That place called “Denim+” was where American Eagle used to be. This mall makes me sad.
