@@Gamezone-ze3oz I think it limits CPU package to minimum assured power, which in case of Ultra 5 is 20W, per Intel specs.

@@Gamezone-ze3oz Game itself doesn't set TDP, but it may force CPU to work harder than it should and use more power this way. As example, I have here Dead Space 1 & 2, both run way below 20W at 60fps. But there is a difference how I have to run them, to get to those levels. Dead Space 2 ruclips.net/video/JVkhzlC0-OY/видео.html will use whole 20W, even when capped to 60fps. I have to additionally use ThrottleStop to turn off Turbo mode and limit SpeedShift, then the game goes down to the same power level like its first entry, and still goes to 60fps.

@ Thanks. I want this thing for indie games, but not if low TDP is difficult to achieve. I need the battery life. I know the Ally can be set as low as 7w and the Steam Deck even lower.

That's a problem of FSR3. Hopefully it will get update to FSR3.1 For now you have to have desktop resolution set to the same as your game, to have it fullscreen. Personally I prefer to use Lossless Scaling app, instead of FSR, for framegen.

Did you updated you machine fully? BIOS patches etc. applied? Overboost turned on?

@@Alejandro.budget.gaming that's 720p Super Battery mode, so max 20W, but capped to 25/30 or 60 fps it simply never uses that much power. So basically this video is the worst case scenario you can get. If you uncap it, it will use 20W and you will get more fps. There is no point setting Balanced mode on capped 60fps 720p, because it will never need this much power. Look my other Diablo 2 video, it shows uncapped 1080p in 35W. As for the D4 and RE4, I don't own those.

@@Alejandro.budget.gaming Claw has: - Super Battery mode - Balanced mode - Performance mode - AI mode - Manual mode (here you can set different wattage when using charger or battery, for each separately) Super Battery mode is the lowest. You can also set it's equivalent with Manual mode. No matter which mode you set you will have 60fps on 720p. And probably on 1080p too.

I have no idea. You don't need to run it on 30W. If you limit FPS to 60, then the power usage will go down below 20W, probably 12-13W if no less. That's what happens with Diablo 2 or Dead Space 1/2/3. Those videos are made so that people could see how they perform without any limits, max performance. EDIT: Yeah I just tested it, with 60fps it goes down to 11-12W EDIT2: I played 1 hour and 4 minutes now, battery gone down from 94% to 68%. Brightness set to 72%.

Why the hell is it running 24w even at 120fps? The game is so old

@ Which mode do you use on these tests? The AI mode?

@@Gamezone-ze3oz Under both videos there are notes how I run them. This one is manual set to 35W and the other one is Super battery mode and capped to 60fps.
