If you don't have your weapons drawn the Lynel won't attack right away - it gives you time to back off until either you don't take that chance to leave like you did, or show any hostility (aka draw a weapon) I'd like to think they don't actively care about killing you, they're just territorial and as long as you aren't a threat to their territory they'll leave you be

I just got done with the Water Temple today. When I first met Yona, I couldn't help but smile when I learned she was engaged to Sidon. I quite enjoyed Sidon as a character from the previous game and seeing him now score a childhood lover was something I thought he deserved. I really like her influence here, showing him some tough love to let her do her job while he does his. I went online to see what others think of Yona, only to my dismay. I think people are just too harsh on her. I find it funny that some folks try to use Yona as target practice but I hope that in time people will give her a second chance and see her in a different light. But I doubt that. Also, reading this comment section really made me happy to see people liking Yona. Thank you all.

Yona is great character, nice, perfect for Sidon. From a lore perspective she's also interesting because of the domain she comes from.

Shes such a good partner!! Like of course shes super nice and very thoughtful, but she also KNOWS Sidon and understands how his trauma affects him and helps him stay grounded when its overwhelming. When she sternly, but obviously lovingly, told him that she will be okay, and that he can go without worry, i knew she was a good match. That persistent fear Sidon carries must be crushing, so to have your partner validate how you feel but directly communicate that theyll be there for you is very mature and real. Sorry for rambling, but Yona is a sweet and competent partner and character, and im glad to see that she wasn't shoehorned in for pairing reasons, but to show that Sidon is gradually healing. He can finally start to confront and soothe the wound that was left in his heart since he was a small child.

Yonas a great new character, idk why some people seem to not like her maybe it’s from the “yes! Yes!” She does all the time but idk

this is probably a really hot take, but i actually wished yona was the water sage. she was such a fun new character that i instantly liked a lot. plus after doing tulin first, i was looking forward to other new-ish characters being sages. not to say i don’t love sidon, but he got so much time in the spotlight in botw, and i would’ve liked if some other characters got to be a sage.

I love Yona man, I don’t really mind that her writing wasn’t “deep” like I heard someone complain about. She’s Sidon’s support and shoulder to lean on. I think part of the hate (on a subconscious level) is her goofy English voice lines.

When I first found out that Yona was Sidon’s fiancée, I wasn’t like *”RIP, MAIM, KILL! HOW DARE YOU TAKE HIM AWAY FROM LINK!”* I was more like, “Aww, he’s getting married! How cute!” This feeling would be bolstered by seeing how supportive she is! Seriously, Nintendo really just made one of the cutest couple dynamics I have ever seen!
