This video shows the process of applying the finish to a musical instrument. The instrument in the video is a baritone ukulele, but the process would be the same on a guitar. I start with the preparation and sanding. Then I show the actual spraying of the surface.

When spraying the final finish on the instruments I build or repair, there has been a problem with the buildup of a fog around me. It is not good to breathe that air. So, in this video, I built a spray booth that pulls the fog away from me and sends the air through a filter. Problem solved!

Applying the lacquer is only the beginning. After the lacquer has hardened, then comes the sanding with varying grit paper and then finally buffing with polishing compound.

Installing the Bridge on an Acoustic Guitar is a very important step. The placement of the bridge is important to the tuning, but the bridge must be glued on in such a way that it will hold. Gluing to the soundboard must be wood to wood. Glue does not hold well to lacquer.
