Hello! My name is Dearld and I like to play magic. I like to think I am good at the game but I do understand there is a lot of room for improvement. On this channel I will focus on Magic The Gathering and the standard format. We will explore the standard meta, review high performing decks, and a few fun decks here and there. More importantly we will try to get better at the game through in game analysis and playing the ranked ladder while getting in my daily cardio.

With the Foundations set release for Magic The Gathering, I wanted to look at what good upgrades we would get for the current meta decks to give them a fighting chance and stay within the meta. Magic the gathering just reset ranks for the month and we are starting out out ranked grind with Teferi’s Talent. Utilizing Caretakers Talent and the card draw effects with Teferi’s token generation we get the best of both worlds. Servicing to the late game with an early control shell and heavy removal. Once we turn the corner it’s hard to lose #mtg #mtgstandard

Post ban of leyline of resonance the meta can lighten up on early interaction and shine in midrange and late game decks. This bant domain focused deck won’t see any Atraxa or herd migration but will take over the game with white and green overlords!

First time watching you, awesome content. Love your honesty admitting when you're uncertain why a certain card choice or deck is working (kellan, temur) vs coming up with bs on the spot like I feel some other creators do. Personally, I'm just getting back into constructed so I went for the simplest deck - mono red, at least until ~dia/mythic. Looking forward to your continued coverage of standard and hope your channel pops off soon!

Its in an amazing spot where almost everything can win tourneys, over the last weekend I reviewed 7 tourneys and every one had a different winner, so your local meta will be a huge player in what to play, RDW isn’t my cup of tea but I can respect it for keeping the meta in check. And about kellan, honesty is the best policy. Thanks for giving a small creator a shot

What deck are you winning with in the new FDN standard?
Hey there, good to see you playing UW control! :) I still wonder what card draw mechanism is better; Caretaker with delayed value or Floodpits with immediate one. And then you have Think Twice from FDN as an instant option. Whale definitely seems to have a place in the current meta. Also, good setup!
Thanks so much!! Think twice vs deduce, deduce has more value in this deck with the talent and the token it makes, plus you can class 2 the token for an extra card and more value, but your main question, floodlit vs caretakers… after much testing turn 3 tends to be a dead turn either way, you can cast both and yes you’ll get cards this turn with floodlit but both enchantments tend to die the first copy you put out, but long term with the token strategy caretaker will grant you more cards and more body’s to play with. If I was to go the floodlit route it prolly switch to a big body strategy like floodlit, whale, elesh born mom, full set of white mistmores and a few Jin gitaxes
