Should have went to Rock Road Outfitters. The leverage is a huge factor in steering components. Heim joint steering is loose and walks and causes "death wobble". I'm not trying to be a d$@k I've been building every Jeep style for 40 years. Also putting a spacer between the spring changes the shear point on the center pin on the spring. You could do a panic stop and hit a small bump in the road and shear off the center pin and the axel will slide under the truck and roll the Jeep. These trucks are easy to work on but there's a science behind it. Your playing with your life and the life of the other people on the road. As an off road rig? Your on the right track. But blacktop and concrete are a very different story.
Have you used or know anyone that has personal experience with rocky road outfitters YJ high steer kit? I checked their web site and just want to have a review from someone before I purchase
Doubt you'll see this but love it, just got my yj in January.. what really got me was youre plate, my pop used to call me bootsi or boots, never heard anyone say, or seen it before. Anyway jeep on✌
Nice YJ I like the no flare look. Definitely the 8.8 is gonna be a lot of help on the trails/rox. I have questions for you do you recommend doing the axle over the spring with 33” tires I have a Ex 4” lift kit or leave it the way it is I wanna add the 8.8 as well. Thanks
@@dustinrichards465 I hear you there dude. Mine has been on the back burner for the last few years. Going to start working on it again SOON. have the motor swap to start, then a complete suspension change out to stretch and go coilovers
How are the 35s with those gears? I'm thinking of going 35s with 4.10s front and rear and a 4.2 motor. I have 33/10.50s right now and the 4.10 gearing is too much for them. My top speed is like 60 in 5th gear
Take your time and try to find one in the best shape you can afford. One of the greatest benefits to owning a Jeep is the huge amount of aftermarket support that is out there for them. If you run into issues then there are lots of RUclips videos on most troubles that crop up.
Cool looking Jeep dude, I also have a 95 Wrangler, white as well, but mine is a 4 cylinder with manual 5 speed shift, I have some big all terrain tires on it, it's a fun Jeep specially in the summer with the top down, it's just drains gas like crazy though. I also have a 4.0L Cherokee and it feels 10x more economical than the Wrangler lol
Alex had the same issues with my ‘94I had 33/12.5 felt like I had a leak in the tank but the realized I was pushing the four banger too much and it would just gulp the gas.
Ls swap please easy and cheap .. I did mine.
It's an automatic though..... this makes me sad.😔
Great job on your vintage YJ, it looks solid bud, reminds me of my 94' I bought new, same color as yours, I do regret letting it go 🇺🇸🤣
What the hell are you listening too.

Being that you have an auto, how is it with 35's and those gears? I have an auto too so I'm just curious on your experience.
I love it. I can drive 75 mph at 2700 rpm. I will go lower because I dont daily it anymore. I will probably go to 4.56
I will probably go to 4.56 because I wont be daily driving it as much anymore and dont need to do 75 in a jeep unless i am doing a road trip.
Don’t know if I’ll get a response but as far as the patch kit goes. How far gong was your rear frame?
My rear frame was swiss cheese at the bottom part where you would cut out anyways the rest of it was pretty solid.
sitting here listening to Subie exhausts, and I look over to see you in my recommends lol How you been Dustin
I've been good! Jeep has been on the back burner since February.

I so want a Jeep but know nothing about working on a vehicle..and feel it would be to expensive..

Have you ever ran stock steering on the knuckle bracket?

Have you ever considered switching to a 5 speed manual transmission?
My last jeep had a 5spd. I am not going to switch because I like the Auto for off-road more. I went through 2 clutches in my 94 offroading
