I have used the PEQ before running Audyssey but felt it was EQ on top of EQ. So now just use Audyssey with Evo.

With MultEQ app, I was applying room correction to 500 hz for all speakers. Measured RT60A in my room is around 220 hz, so I can go down to that frequency for room correction in the MultEQ app if I really want to.

@@sammy10001 agree about the nulls. The SB16 Ultra is next to the Front Left. I think the SB16 Ultra and SB3000 are cancelling each other out lol. I’m going to get some bass traps and install some ceiling panels hopefully it will fix it.

Yes, mostly use Auro-3D on non dolby atmos soundtracks. I use default settings. I also use Auro-3D for multi-channel music in addition to standard Auro-3D music discs.

@@krishnataveras8734 If you follow the Audyssey’s onscreen direction last two positions are behind the listening 20 inches on the right and left. But you can take those last measurements 6 inches to the front right and left or next to the MLP.

I say try 60 hz. If the bass is not as powerful then switch back to 80 hz. Directional Bass is more for multiple subs in my opinion. I think 60 hz would be more appropriate if the +/- 3 db limit of your speakers is truly at 40-45 hz.

@@m4nc1n1 No LPF to LFE is set to default of 120 hz. I have individual crossovers setup for all the speakers. 60 hz for bed layer speakers, 80 hz for top middle, 120 hz for front heights, 80 hz for rear heights.

In this video I was assessing the crossover points and therefore set the height speakers to large which caused the LFE to default to 250 for some reason.

AV8805A. Upmixing is engaged when you select Auro-3D or DTS Neural-X on a Dolby Atmos input signal. Otherwise there is no upmixing. If the signal is Dolby Digital Plus, then you can use the dolby upmixer by selecting the audio mode, or DTS Neural-X or Auro-3D. Upmixing has to be selected and is not "on" by default unless you are already in the Neural-X or Auro-3D mode. Hope that helps.

Great question. There are multichannel DACs available but those are Uber expensive. Exasound makes a multichannel DAC. You can try to setup multiple 2-channel DACs of the same kind for each of the channels in parallel. The best way and most effective way in my opinion is to connect your PC via HDMI to a reviver for multichannel.

Yep. You would think in 2023 and 2024 they would have added individual crossovers for speakers. I think it’s more of a philosophical stance at this point. Since the Pioneer receivers are THX certified and THX recommends one crossover for all speakers, Pioneer has stuck with the single crossover. But, who knows for sure.

@@magnoliamo what is suspicious that Onkyo is able to have this "feature" and is also THX certified... The only downside, at least for me, the Onkyo looks not so good as the Pioneer but this is a personal preference and in the end I don't have any advantage of a good looking Receiver...When Onkyo had independently two subwoofer out it is a no brainer... So the Denon 3800/4800 comes in the game.. Dirac is way to expensive but with audysse one EVO with REW is a good alternative...

I still prefer the Pioneer Elite receivers over Onkyo as a personal choice. I will be trying the Audyssey One with EVO and REW soon.

Thank you so much. I started with the same 60 hz for all the 7 bed layer speakers, CT7.4 and CT7.5. I only decided to change to different crossovers after using REW to find the best crossovers for smoother bass throughout.

Correct. I have always heard that you have to take all 8 measurements. You can take all 8 around your 3 seats. It will sound even better.

Nice! I have the MM7055 as well. I use it for the heights. I used to have the MM8077 before the McIntosh. I like both the Marantz amps.

I ran the REW sweeps for L+R+Sub using 80hz, 60hz, and 40hz crossover. 80 and 60hz were almost the same but both had a 10db loss in output between 50 and 60hz. 40hz got rid of that dip and added more extension down to 15hz. Marantz doesn't have an option for 70hz. It's either 60hz or 80hz. That's the reason why went with 40hz. I have updated my crossover to 60hz now and will deal with the dip between 50-60hz.

Yes, for 2-channel, those RUclips videos will work. For my 2-channel I use the Stereophile Test CDs. In addition to the warble test tones and bass sweeps those discs have some really good demo music with “what you should listen for”. I will check out the video in your comment. Thanks for sharing.

Yes CT7.4 does a great job with dialogue reproduction and center channel duty in my all CT7.4 system.

@johndaddabbo9383 thank you! I agree with you. I have always used 60 hz as the crossover for the fronts and only recently changed it to 40 hz. Reason was for the change was additional fine tuning using Audyssey and REW. At the 15:20 min mark is where I determined that 60 hz was the right crossover using REW and sub alignment. I am interested in your thoughts on whether I arrived at this correctly or not. Here is the video. @@magnoliamo if you don't agree, there are very few brands that can be compared to Mk&S300 LCR, both basic and movies, for example Krix Epicentrix Perlisten Ascendo Klipsch Cornwall IV Procella Audio but these brands can be compared to Mk&Sound Bowers&Wilkins Focal is a great choice for music but not ideal for movies

What’s up Joe! You know what. I just checked the frequency response in the manual and B&W CCM663 have a frequency response of 45-50,000 Hz (-6db). It makes sense now. Your point about boundary gain is spot on as well. I did run them in pure direct and got the same bass response as with Audyssey. Thank you for keeping me honest!

@@romynovanda5974 For these videos, I really should crank it up. I wanted to increase the level but Audyssey MultEQ XT32 setup had me bring the level down to -27 for a balanced output. I have two subs in the room. The other being the SVS-SB3000. That one is at -22. lol. The trim level in the receiver is set at -2 for the SB-16 Ultra and -3 for the SB3000. All verified and calibrated using REW for a balanced output.
