Love Blauner!! Headed to the library today. Hoping to find one of the four of his books I haven't read. LOVED Picture in the Sand and the Robles books. Read Sunrise Highway after buying it on a whim while staying at my folks' house on the north fork of Long Island. So much fun! Will also try to find a Carter Wilson there. Just googled his books and they look right up my alley cheers

Full disclosure: I'm a 65-year-old gay Jew. I didn't live thru the early 60s, but my memories of it are as vivid as the non-fiction works that chart the gay (and later allied) liberation struggles allow. At this point time, with some wistful regret, I have to admit that a novel about the pre-Stone Wall era is, officially, historical fiction. Cahill's work is unique in this genre in that there is no mawkish self-pitying, no special pleading, no apologetics. The characters, tossed into buzz saw of organized government, social, and medical oppression, react true to their life experience. It is easy to empathize with the difficult choices and accommodations they make to live as close to an authentic life as their circumstances allow, This is an outstanding work that cries out for a sequel.

Carter, thank you so much for inviting Caroline Cleveland to your show. As a librarian, I find out about books from a variety of sources. I am not sure how I originally heard of When Cicadas Cry, but I immediately checked it out. It was a great read. I hope everyone gets their hands on a copy. I look forward to putting into some hands myself.

Loved the gatekeeper audiobooks actually more than the reacher books (and I'm a huge fan). The use of British comedy with Dez is so spot on. I hope his success with the series is Lee Child version 2.0. Also love the Oregon references in Dead Lock. We are regular visitors and will be thinking of Dez when touring on holiday this summer. Excellent series!

Gonna seem strange. Wrap the body tightly in plastic. Grey tape tightly to keep any smells from escaping. If she has an Anwar, she can hide the body in there. After securing the doors shut with screws have some strong neighbor boys help her load it in a truck (rental or borrowed). Then drive to a bridge and toss over. Or burn with gasoline. As for moving the body by herself, think about belts for leverage and such. Just an idea!
