I need to know that I matter
I often doubt myself, and I rely on the energy of others, for good or bad. This is a response to an email of appreciation that I got, and it made me think a lot about these things.
Good Talk is an ongoing series where I talk about my own experiences with different feelings, personal thoughts, and dreams on a personal level. Good Talk is meant to be a conversation of spreading positivity and inspiration where I just open up for discussion in the comments, and where you, the viewer gets to share your thoughts on the topic of the video. Feel free to post long comments, and even better, respond to other people. That way it becomes a two-way communication where we can all learn from each other'...

I made it!!!

Three years ago, I set out a goal to do 150 training/exercise moments the following year. I failed the first year, and the second but in 2021, with a lot of encouragement from others together with self-discipline, I finally reached that target. I wanted to vent some of the feelings, just as I finished the 150th. I also have a new goal set for 2022. Good Talk is an ongoing series where I talk ab...

This channel is my safe space, a vent for my inner feelings that the other platforms don't fully offer. But at the same time, I don't want it to just be an outlet for the negative stuff, even though it's important to deal with that. In this video, I want to share the progress I've made with my exercising, and how (in a very Martin way) I turn that to be a discussion about making the world a bet...

    I was 24 until I was 40! Now that I can no longer be 20 forever I’m 500 and about to die in a minute and half…. I did SO MUCH with my life before I was even 30,,, now that I am a slow degen, I’ll lean into it and be the amalgamation of everything I believe it is to be a “proper adult” the reflection of my inner projections of what I believe it is to be a wholesome and substantive 40 year old man. Goodbye childish ways, it was good, but it’s time for something new and I’ll take everything I learned with me along the way. The two phrases I lived by have been “Live The Dream” as in start right now without anything if you must. And ‘Live Life or Die Trying’

    I’m turning 40 in about six month. I just can’t stop thinking about it, morning, noon and even during my (almost sleepless) nights. The very thought of this upcoming birthday and the reach of such an age are like an everlasting nightmare to me. For several reasons I completely failed my 20s and 30s and missed ALL the goals which were meaningful to me, despite all my best efforts. I tried and I tried all the way to the best of my ability, still getting nowhere. My last attempt to fix the situation has been ultimately shattered by the pandemic. And now turning 40 sounds like a death warrant to me (and believe me, in my case it truly is). Everything about this age is appalling and disgusting to me…EVERYTHING…it’s such an unbearable situation. I go to bed every night hoping not to get up in the morning. But then morning comes and it’s one day less to my 40’s. I am praying every single day begging the Lord to bless me with the best birthday present he could give me in the next 6 months: to quickly take my own life and give it to someone else. I really hope that, at least for this one and last time, He will listen to me and finally end it all

    • @kintagrama
      @kintagrama 6 месяцев назад

      Hey man/woman, you don't need to think like that. 40 it's not old. 40 is not a death warrant. You always have more time, think about it, life is not ended till it is, you are alive, and you have to be proud and happy about it. Be happy because is a gift of the lord, not everyone can have that happiness. Not everyone can say "IM 40" because of various reasons. Not everyone has the chance to live that far. I don't know you, but I'm sure that if you have beaten everything that happened to you, you can beat this to. Keep trying, no matter what

    Because of my health turning thirty was the best in my life, it was a new chapter with everything that had happened like waves of chaos in my teens and 20’s, I had a new chance and I embraced it. I suppose the next decade will be much the same as I move toward it. Sure I have moments where I feel less accomplished, but as I do things now for myself I feel there is so much deeper meaning and understanding now. A true appreciation.

    Hi Martin 👋. I know this video is nearly 4 years old now, but I needed to leave you a comment anyway. I used to avidly watch your other channel (apologies I've not done so in a while! 😮) but I never knew you were a fellow fan! I'm in Scotland and have been a diehard fan of Per and Marie's since The Look in 1989, when I was 13. I was lucky enough to finally come to Sweden and go to a Gyllene Tider concert recently, and met Per and Micke-Syd 😊. However, Marie's music is my overall favourite out of everything they have done. I've just been listening to her album The Change, and was crying over her yet again, and then your video popped up on my youtube. And you've shocked me and made me cry even more! That was such a heartfelt tribute to her. I wish I'd seen it at the time, although I probably wouldn't have been able to type a coherent message. I would be interested to know what your favourite albums are? Mine are Efter Stormen and Den Ständiga Resan. Anyway, you don't have to reply, I just wanted to say something. (I'm going to go and resubscribe to you again! 😄).

    Just found this video. I'm 38 and I dread getting to the 40 line wiithout anything to my name. Depression and anxiety don't help. They aggravate my sense of time and scale when it comes to age. But watching this video game me a little hope. My two takeaways: 1. Stay healthy, coz that's how I will be able to see this life til the end. 2. Don't be afraid of the uncertain future. Instead, be happy becauae there's a lot waiting to be done though still unknown. Thank you for the video. Will watch this again on my 40th.

    Dreading 'the office' tommorow. As an introvert with high anxiety levels its pure dread at the moment. in terms of how to approach it I feel as though i just have to tough it out and recondition myself into the crank world of work by being at work and after a week or so i will toughen up. I think what is hard about coming back is that on holiday we are temporarily freed from the constraints of obligation Plus the creative mind opens up on holiday that there are more possibilities for a different or better life so when we come back there is a feeling of oppression from our very own routines and 'working life''. This i believe is the existential crisis that every holiday creates. In turn, we have to make peace with the fact that it was just a break and that for most of us we just need to accept it. However, for the more highly evolved beings maybe the holiday can be used as platform for change.

    I turned 40 around the same time and now only RUclips showed me this video lol. Now I am 43. Well the first thought when I reached 40 was, Damn now I might probably live less years than what I have lived, I sort of hit the midpoint and from here it's all downhill. It was depressing. Your Elton John quote is awesome, pretty much sums it up, we can never have everything. I always had friends and acquaintances older than me.. These years after 40 I tend to notice younger people around me and many times want to tell them when they are making mistakes, I want to tell them but then I restrict myself because I hated when people advice. Before 40 I wasnt having too many distractions but now at home and in public people seem to depend on me and I have to take care of children, family, coworkers etc. My time every day seem to run very fast. I didn't feel like this before 40. While my mental resilience may have increased but my physical is not.

There's a few things I've learned to do, but one of them is to blur the boundaries a bit by doing a bit of soft preparation just before I go back, and doing a couple of more evenings-based, holiday-like things the first two days back.

Shouldn't you try become hyper aware of this and learn to keep your face relaxed all the time. Because the wrinkles are due to hyper expression of surprise or emotion, not age.

    Yea if I was this charismatic and comfortable, I'd probably not worry as much. But with my midlife crisis which I thought would be over within months of some realisations, it's still continuing 4 years later. It's a long process, perhaps with no end. Throw in an emigration to a high cost of living country and therefore zero friends, family, and support.. doesn't make it easy.
