    I so appreciate what you expressed about allowing a piece to “marinate”. I have started pieces and stopped for several weeks because something that I couldn’t see at the time was bothering me, until I would suddenly see the piece after a long lapse and have an epiphany about what was causing me consternation about it in the first place. I used to feel that I needed to be more spontaneous with my artwork, but I have come to realize that I’m more a bit more meticulous than that lol. Ideas will float in my mind for a long time as I mentally explore the possibilities, often getting unexpected inspiration that lays the whole path clear for me. Thank you for your inspiring commentaries.

    I agree, beginning artworks without knowing the end image also allows the artist to apply the Dissociate Method of SEEING WITH EYES ALONE, ASSOCIATING WITH NO MNOWLEDGE NO FOCUS NO VALUE SYSTSM FOR FHE CHANGES AESTHETICALLY WITHIN YOUR FRAME OF SIGHT. WHICH, IM PROPOSING IN A DETAILED MANIFESTO OF THE DISSOCIATE PRACTICE, FAMILIARIZES THE DISSOCIATE ARTIST WITH HIS OWN EXCLUSIVELY, INNATE AESTHETIC VISUAL ATTRACTIONS LIKES DISLIKES WE ALL ARE BORN WITH YET NO TWO SETS OF PREDERENCES ARE ALIKE(THINK FINGEDPRINTS) BUT AFTER STARTI G A PAINTING LIKE YOU DO YOULL BE ALLOWED THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK AT THE WORK USING DISSOCIATES TECHNIQUE AND INCLUDE THOSE INNATE ATTRACTIONS EXCLUSIVELY YOURS ALONE HENCE HOUR WORKING AUTHENTICALLY AND PRODUCING BY DEFINITION, TRULY ORIGINAL ART! THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT ART AND CONTENT! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED I. THE DISSOCIATE METHOD AND CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT SETS IT APART FROM SAY THE OLD TE HNIQUE OF BLURRING YOUR OWN VISION TO MAKE AESTHETIC RELATIONSHIPS. ID BE HONORED TO Talk and explain Why i think ive discovered something fresh that is likely a lifes-work and certainly worth it. I know this can generate the next major movement if i handle things right, with perseverance. Hope to hear from you. On breaks from studio projects ill go pai t poetry in the streets on found objects etc...my "iGram" is (C.M.DOOM1982) ill send you a foow and hello or hmu. Thanks again

    • @Ikaros23
      @Ikaros23 2 года назад

      I think you forget that Basquiat himself also was highly influenced by other artists Picasso, Klein, Roy Lichtenstein ( and other pop artists). Abstract expressionism with a mix of inspiration from African arts/crafts started with Picasso. Art is alot like " remixing" where the artist is always having a " discussion" with the past. That is taking elements from other artists and making your own " Style". This artist is not highly orginal, but he clearly has his own style and is brilliant with colours ( most great artists are great with colour). The obsession with " orginality" is overrated as far as i can see. Artists need to focus more on finding they`re own " style", than orginality. That is a artist that can create a 100% new art form comes maby just every 100 year or so. A new form like Kraftwerk created in music or Matisse is simply so rear that i almost never happens.

      @@agapewyclef6381 Thank you for your response. Interesting observations that are as limited as this gentleman's work. Perhaps look at Bonnard if you want to see real color exploration. And King Crimson & Gentle Giant were way ahead of Kraftwerk. But in the end any creative endeavor is a cerebral expression and should be the ultimate expression of freedom! Peace and well being to you!

    I love hearing you talk about art! You are filling a void of conversation on art in my life. I agree with you on so many points. I miss the banter. It gives an artist a boost to keep going, or change what you are doing, or even ideas, techniques, or clarity. I keep trying to paint a cornfield. I'm surrounded by cornfields. I usually see the painting as a flashing movie and need to stop somewhere in that to capture a frame. I create art because I have to create. I prefer photography which is what I was trained in but it seems like there a too many photographer (not necessarily art photographers in my book). So I turn back to painting. Just writing this has helped to clarify what and why I am painting another cornfield. Thanks!

    Women historically have been the center of family. In the past, being in the center made it impossible to stand forward. The man was supposed to protect the family which sends him to the foreground.

    A memory of color was when my parents bought me a large box of crayons. I couldn't believe there were so many colors in the world! I know I drew on the walls and got into trouble. So, I would go under desks and tables and draw as though I was doing the Sistine Chapel. Color is one of the languages I speak. If you let it flow, let the painting and colors speak to you, you get that subconscious flow. I like interpreting my paintings and photography psychologically. Yet art speaks on many levels through color, or the lack of color. I love your color language! Thank you for sharing, Bolaji!
