I saw Matt in “Company” and heard him interviewed about this role, but hadn’t heard him sing it. He gets the essence of Frank when delivering a song and I didn’t expect that exactly from the intro here! In the actual show I am certain he’s got this.

What a treat. I saw her in Chicago this close and she was crying in character by the end. I was saddened she left the role after the pandemic rules lifted. Any idea why she stepped out of the role? The cast was amazing but she brought her acting chops to the role and set her above the others (whom I loved).
I don't know why she left the role - it seems like Six rotates its cast on Broadway regularly, so maybe they were just ready for a shift change. We saw her in Six at A.R.T. in Cambridge before they went to Broadway, and she was a standout there, too.
@@peterlee7496 I think something happened. Who knows but I wish her the best. I was lucky enough to be in the front row and the entire original American cast was AMAZING. I also was skeptical because I loved the West End cast from videos and couldn't imagine it done without accents. To me, the orginal American cast was vocally a bit stronger.
@@thomasszymanski1107She did leave earlier than initially planned (I think for some medical reason, about which she was understandably private), but she would have been rotated out by now anyway. The last remaining OBC members finished their contracts in December 2022.

@@thomasszymanski1107 She was still with the production as of the Tony’s - just sick with Covid that day (that she disclosed at the time). She and Adrianna left later that summer.

Agreed - it would have been great to have background singers. I'm sure it came down to cost + logistics. A few of the acts on the first Broadway Cruise had background singers, but it was still the exception. Hopefully we'll get to hear him sing it with more singers and an orchestra when the show comes to Broadway!

He was incredibly friendly and seemed really genuine. We saw him several times around the ship and ashore, and he was always happy to chat with people. He was also off on the side during several other performers shows, dancing and loudly cheering them on. All that, and so talented!
