2023 Chene Gear Wader One Year Review
Here is one my one year review of the Chene Gear Waders I purchased in the summer of 2022. I hunted six different states in the fall of 2022 and these waders were flawless. Really comfortable for long day sits. Please check out my first initial review from the summer of 2022 here ruclips.net/video/pP-B30eoevk/видео.html

Been a while since I did an update on my channel. This my new black Labrador retriever:TAZ! He is currently 16 weeks old and doing really good with training. We got tax from a breeder in central Wisconsin called Bird Crazy Gun Dogs. I was really impressed with their small operation and the attention they gave to all their dogs. Blind Grass Camouflage Waterfowl Blind Concelment
Просмотров 10 тыс.2 года назад
I picked up some Blind Grass Camouflage for my duck boats this season. I have struggled with natural grass mats and Rafia Grass. They get wet, heavy and moldy. They only last a season or two. I spend a lot of time on the road driving to various spots from October to January and the miles take a toll on natural camo. I came across this product two years ago and finally pulled the trigger on it t...
Chene Gear Waders- First Impressions 2022
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.2 года назад
Picked up a pair of Chene Gear Waders this summer. I have done a lot of research online from people who have used them this past couple of seasons. I made a call down Chene and the customer service team was really helpful on what size I should get and explaining their waders. Very Impressed!

Great Review
This is my favorite size Jon boat
put a pad on the bottom! lol. can i come work for you! i can really change things for you!
I have this exact setup accept I went with backwater instead of ppf …. It’s a bad little setup. I kill ducks when others aren’t bc I can get into places they can’t.
What are your speeds with the backwater??? There’s not as much information out there on them and what I have found seems to suggest they are slower
That's what I'm looking for where can I get that, looks awesome thanks
Blindgrass.com tell Jay JJ sent ya
Thanks I'm from NY hopefully I can order it I'll look thanks again good luck
How many pounds of bundle grass do you think you used for the loop and knot boat? Looking to do the same for an 1854.
I ordered 65 pounds of loose bundle grass should do!
Great review. Thank you very much.
Loop and knot???? Can't tell how you tie on to wire grid. Please demonstrate?
It’s a over hand knot,
So take the strand and fold in half. then tie it in a knot around the wire? @@jjmalvitz3460
Or do you make the loop and push the loop end under the wire and then bring the two tag ends up through the loop?
@@BillSarafin try watching my momarsh video
I hunted that same front you hunted just before Christmas in 2022, but I was on the Kansas Side. Great hunt that day! I appreciate your review. I wore Sitka Waders all season of 2022 & 2023 and really liked them, I started wearing Chene waders this season. The big difference I noticed was weight in regards to the actual material. The chene waders are much more robust. With that said, I felt like the boots in the sitka waders were lighter and more nimble than the chene gear waders. What were thoughts in regards to comparing those two waders side by side in ease of movement and nimbleness?
Great review! Thanks for taking the time to make-
Great review. Thank you
You should do a video on your boat blind!
Hey, I will! I actually store it out where I use it mostly, which is 8 hours from where I live.
@@jjmalvitz3460 Haha. My dad used to do that with his boat back in the 70s. Except they just flipped it over in the weeds at the landing they would hunt on the weekends. I'm guessing you have a fancier storage setup than that lol.
1236 PPF Honda 15mph just me 9 with gear and a buddy
What manufacturer is your 1236?
How does this boat sit at the water line? My biggest complaint of my 1230 jon is its very easy to submerge the back corner if you put any weight on it. I've swamped my boat several times. I'm hoping a 1240 has a little better buoyancy.
I know what your talking about! This has a wider bottom and sits higher by 4” or more
CORNERSTONE IS A YUPPIE MONEY MAKER FOR THEM ...LOL WELCOME TO BULLSHIT CORNERSTONE CRAP....

Where’s the next video?! I’d love to see it in action
Put a 7in prop on it. Amd you will gain 3-4mph
Man you’re videos are great quality, keep it up and you’re going to blow up
Thanks I appreciate it, I will have some more videos come summer with some off season waterfowl projects
“They only work for one season then they’re shot.” Yeah, i’d rather pay $150 every few season for waders than $1100 for one pair. Thats ridiculous.
that's why these have a lifetime warranty.

Good video, is there a second part,? By chance can u say we’re did u bought it and how much did it cost?
How have they been this season?
Really like using them, hunted about 30-40 times out of them. I ordered another pair in shadow (black).
@@jjmalvitz3460why two pair?
Thanks! In same predicament with water. And now freezing temps. Might have to add one to the pile of gear.
How stable is it
I can't speak for the 12 ft but my 16ft Lowe is very stable.
I went from a Tracker 1036 for trout fishing with a Merc 2.5 hp and a 45 lb electric trolling motor. Loved that thing!! Then I had just a 20 ft Sun Tracker Fishin Barge 20 with a Mercury 90 hp 4 stroke and I already had a Lund 1775 with the same motor, different year. Love those, but got back into fishing with some buddies that all go out on small boats in small lakes with decent to big fish! There are a few bigger lakes as well. I had that tracker out in stuff it was never intended for, but being only 1 person in them, they did really well. If there were a couple of guys, there’s more opportunities to sink one corner of the boat and swamp it. Now I have a Marlon 10/51. It’s 9’10” long and actually only has a 49” wide bottom. Not sure how they get away with advertising it’s 51”,,,,, REGARDLESS, it’s a great boat!! It tracks very well. The entire hull is all welded, the sides are same height as the transom all around and it’s sturdy!! Even with 36” on the Tracker, there were times you just didn’t stand up. With the new Marlon,,,, no worries!! It’s heavier, naturally, but only 105 lbs. it’s bare aluminum, so no annoying paint damage always in sight. I put floors in, it already has a thin foam product on the seats and I can move around quietly in it. I now have a 6 hp Merc on this one and the same 45 lb thrust Minn Kota. Doesn’t use any more battery than the 36” wide Tracker and there’s a lot more room inside. In calmer waters I have been out with a buddy in the boat with me. We both could stand and cast at the same time. I ordinary fly fish for trout and Northern Pike. Biggest trout this year from it is 27” Rainbow and 30” Brown, biggest pike was 43” and 26lbs. I let them all go. The trout were hybrids in a Troy lake, the pike was a big mature female. Males never get over 30” around here. Love the boat! Was gonna get a Lund, but like stated, there were supply issues. The Marlons cost more, but are worth it.
I have the same boat. The sloped transom top has proven challenging for dialing in my mudskipper twister. How about you? Safe travels
Thanks for the info. I've been looking into getting one myself. 1440 is the minimum size I would consider getting. Not sure about either an outboard or swamp/mud board? 🤔
Let’s see a video of your garage. Looks like a perfect outdoorsman setup.
looking forward to see it in the water
I purchased a 1040 and the boat is perfect, the only problem I have is the drain plug removal. I tried it all and that plug will not come out. Tried punching it out from the outside ..no luck.
Maybe drill it out and then pry the rest out. ?
@@jjmalvitz3460 That's the part I am trying to avoid. :-)
@@WilbertRobichaud I would contact lowe and see if it is warranty
Thank you for all the great information. Can you suggest how best to transport your jon boat? Can you put it in a pickup truck bed that may only be 7 feet long with the tailgate down? When does an angler need to opt for a trailer? Any feedback is appreciated. Best of luck with your new boat.
Hey yeah, I slide it into the back of my truck no problem. It’s a 6’6” bed with the tail gate down it’s 8’
Got it, thanks
How is it working out for you? What type of speeds are you getting?
Works great. Get about 12mph pretty consistent!
@@jjmalvitz3460 have you ever used a Thai long tail? I’m trying to pick something for a 1232 boat.
@@huntingbob123 I would go with the PPF, hands down. Better construction, we’ll thought out machibe
I have both the PPF wood duck with a 6.5hp Briggs motor and a 13hp predator with swamp Runner medium package. I run a 14’ mod V so the boat is oversized for both motors. I was super surprised that the ppf would even push the 14’. It’s slow as heck in open water as one can expect but it pushes through mud like a BEAST. The long tail is faster in open water, runs smoother but doesn’t get through mud as well and takes some getting used too. Neither have reverse. Again my boat is oversized for both. If I had a smaller boat I would definitely go with the ppf. It is lighter and way easier to manage. Plus there isn’t a huge tail sticking out that needs to be hidden when duck hunting. For a bigger boat and more travel needed the swamp runner is the go-to for the last 2 seasons. I push a 14’ mod v with 2 big guys, 3 dozen decoys and a homemade boat blind 12 mph in open water.
Do you have any thoughts or experience with the backwater ultra lite?
I went from a 1232 tracker topper to a Lowe1240 what a difference. I use it on a small lake with a 10 horse Johnson with 2 trolling moters and a front deck. It works real nice for me untill them water skiers get out
Looks similar to the tracker topper as well if you don't mind me asking how much was that jon boat
It was 1800$ out the door. With how everything is, I didn’t think that was to bad!
And 6 months later it costs $3102. That's what their website lists it at
