Living... Step by Step: The Colorado Trail 2019
Keith ("Spreadsheet") and Gina ("Mulch") hike the 485 mile Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango over the course of 33 days. This was our second attempt at thru-hiking the CT after running out of time during a 2015 hike (www.keithandgina.com/Trips/2015-Colorado-Trail/) just 75 miles short of the finish.

Keith ("Spreadsheet") and Gina ("Mulch") trek from Mexico to Canada over the course of 168 days on the PCT in this documentary video. Putting our jobs, normal lives, and the comforts of home on hold for 6 months to go live a completely different life with 12 pounds of possessions was an incredibly liberating experience. At 26.5 minutes of "on trail" time, each minute of video represents about 1...

    What a beautiful video of your CT through hike! My wife and I are not as young as we used to be. We are new to backpacking and have enjoyed our trips in the mountains of NC. How long did you train for the CT and how long, before this trip? Was your hike during the Summer? What months? Thank you!

    Holy Heavenly Days dear gal!!! That is the worst blister I have ever seen! What a trooper to keep plugging through, getting that the first day! YOU GO GIRL!!! You are truly an inspiration. Way to go Keith on the Mt. Elbert summit!!! I live in the San Luis Valley; the skies of southern Colorado are spectacular aren't they!?! They are one of my most favorite parts of this area. Always so blue and vibrant, even on a stormy cloudy day! Northern Colorado has nothing to compare. But the wind.....the wind is my LEAST favorite part! It's Wyoming status until the snow melts from the mountaintops. We only really get about 2-3 months of relief each summer. I was wondering how the avalanches would effect the CT this year. They were awful and SO many! Glad you guys made it through safely! As far as the "5 second rule"...momma always told me, "God made dirt. Dirt don't hurt." =) lol And girlfriend you were cruisin' down that last little hill into Durango! I'm guessing you were READY to be done! lol! Well done you two! My plan is for my husband and I to hike the CT the summer of 2021. Would be 2020 but we are going to my husband's Navy reunion in Oahu so.....the daydreaming must continue for now. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. It was a delight indeed! HAPPY TRAILS! #keeponkeepinon

    Great video. I'm planning on hiking the CT in 2020. When did you start? How many miles did y'all average per day? When did you finish? Can you share info on resupply points?

      @ginadavidson5560 5 лет назад

      Tha Hikin Lycan Thanks! We started on July 21 - ended on August 22. Took us 1 month and 1 day to complete. We hiked around 17 miles average per day. We took a couple zeros, but wish we had planned one more. ;-) We took food with us to start, resupplied in Frisco (sent a box to Twin Lakes and Molas Lake campground from Frisco), resupplied in Salida (took a zero there), and Lake City. Best wishes on your 2020 hike! Have fun! Thanks again!

    • @ginadavidson5560
      @ginadavidson5560 5 лет назад

      Thanks, Matt! The weather was actually not that bad this time. (In 2015, it rained so much!) We only had to stop and put up tent and wait it out for like 3 afternoons. A few days, it rained or s few hours while we still hiked on. Overall, the weather was great compared to how it “normally” is in “monsoon” season. Thanks again for watching! 😎🏕

      Hi Greg - Sorry I did not see this until after you started... 90% of the video/photos were taken with a Sony rx100m3 camera. The rest were on a Droid Turbo 2 or iPhone 6. Wish we were out there on the trail with you - have a great hike!
