Finding and documenting historic cemeteries in and around Leon County, Florida. Please do not use my videos alone to try to find a cemetery. Please do your own research before doing anything, and know that it is a felony in the state of Florida to intentionally damage or take something from a cemetery.
Old City Cemetery in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida (Part 2 of 2)
This video documents portions of Old City Cemetery in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. Graves seen and discussed are those of Elizabeth Budd Graham (AKA Bessie “the witch”), Confederate soldiers, R. Frank Nims and relatives, Union soldiers, the Proctor family, Major General David Lang, and others.
One thing I forgot to discuss was the grave visible in the top right of the screen while I’m talking about Daniel Lines (around 09:10). This headstone is made of zinc, which was a trend at the time, and is the only example of such in the cemetery.
Sources will be listed in a comment for parts 1 and 2 respectively.

I arrive at the cemetery at 01:46, and I believe you can briefly see a stone marker that I was unaware of at the time of filming at approximately 12:05, which I think I step on. This video documents the Williams-Crews Cemetery (AKA the Fountain Chapel AME Church Cemetery) in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. One potential inaccuracy I express in this video is my assumption that “most” of the g...

I arrive at the cemetery at 3:47. This video explores the Smith Cemetery in the historic town of Miccosukee, located in Leon County, Florida. In the video I failed to mention that before the town of Miccosukee was founded, it was a Seminole Indian village and the site of an armed conflict in the First Seminole War. In addition, I state that the map on Find a Grave is inaccurate, but this could ...
Hickory Hill Cemetery in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida (Welaunee Plantation)

This video explores the Hickory Hill Cemetery in Leon County, Florida. One inaccuracy seen in this video occurs when I speculate that the cemetery must be older than the late 19th or early 20th century. I was under the impression that Welaunee was a cotton plantation, but multiple sources including the historical marker state that Welaunee Plantation was created out of multiple cotton plantatio...

Corrections: Around 06:45 I start referring to companies in the 2nd USCT as regiments. The 2nd USCT was the regiment and was divided into companies, some of which were assigned to the Florida Expedition of 1865 that culminated at Natural Bridge. Around 14:00 I start referring to the metal grave markers as gravestones, but they are obviously not made of stone. At 13:00 or something I state that there is an oak in Thomasville that is close to a thousand years old, but I’m pretty sure it’s only like 500 or less.

I love finding hidden gems like this.
They have removed graves !
What do you mean? It's only the headstones....
This is false, at least as of February 2024. I visited them then and they were in the same state they are here in this video.
@wheredeadpeoplelive you're right, I was there a couple of months ago.
My grandma told me they removed the headstones of the black Irish that we are related to
@@Prime1765 Wasn't it black on black crime?
