Ski trekking at its finest- on the summer snowpack. Garfield Peak Trail is still closed, so we had to go all the way around- covering 8 miles and 1600 vertical feet. It's a shame that it's impossible to fully capture the scale and color of Crater Lake without seeing it in person
What was the water temp of the lake and the pools? Cool video, man
It was cold. It was only slightly warmer than the lake itself. I thought it would be warmer, but then I considered that the nighttime temps for the last month have been just above freezing, even when the daytime temps are approaching 80f.

Alpine touring setup. Skins are a must to get up there. Even ski crampons would be nice. Snowshoes would work, but it would be a haul.
