Half of the retail on the Queen Street Mall has closed down or moved. People smoke in the mall, and food delivery drivers ride their bikes with without regard for the rules about no bikes or scooters. I am quite wary of some of the people I see hanging around. Why would you come to the Queen Street Mall when Parking and or public transport fares are going to cost you money? Maybe when Cross River Rail is finished and the Metro is finished more people might come into the city Centre.

there are degrees of racism in every country including Australia. 50 years ago, when I was in primary school our class was only about 40% Anglo heritage. Kids were bullied for being overweight or less intelligent but never for the colour of their skin. I grew up in a community of all kinds of races and we even celebrated them. I understand it was different for previous generations. Less accepting. If other races decide to make Australia their home, they are expected to assimilate as opposed to trying to change Australia. Australians are about getting a fair go but not at the expense of the majority. I don't see Australia as an overly racist country. Sure, there will be some old school ideals but on the whole, we are a multicultural nation. Religion is a different story.
