This performance was in fact the final dress rehearsal of the 1986 production in *Bonn.* I actually worked on the production and recognize the sets and costumes. It was directed by Behrens' husband Seth Scheidemann designed by the Polish designer Andrzej Majewski. The conductor was Gustav Kuhn.

Thanks a thousand times for this video! I never realized there could be a video of Behren's Salome, for me the most genuine interpretation of all: youthful, somewhat naïve and amazed, but nonetheless capable of cruelty and selfish coldness. Her voice was exactly what Strauss meant for the part.
