wandering around tokyo neighborhoods during a hot hot weekend | japan 2024 vlog 5 I'm back in Tokyo again for a few days before we have to leave :(( I wasn't initially planning to come back for a whole weekend, but the opportunity to visit the EF Japan office came up, and I needed to come into the city earlier. So, I booked a capsule hotel (my first time trying one!) and sort of winged a solo w...

enjoying nostalgic routines back at my grandparents' house | japan 2024 vlog 4 We're back in Niigata, the prefecture where my family is from. This is where I spent most of my childhood summers, but It's been a while since I got to spend a whole week here. Frankly, I'm not sure that there's anything suuuuuper interesting about what we did this week (other than the glassblowing workshop!), but it...

✨ spirited away for a day at the ghibli park ✨ | japan 2024 vlog 3 We made it down to Nagoya this trip for one reason and one reason only: the Ghibli Park. As a massive Studio Ghibli fan (who isn't?), you bet that this park has been on my list since it opened in 2022. I was particularly excited for the Valley of the Witches, which opened earlier this year, featuring locations from Kiki's Delive...

Welcome to Yamanashi! 🗻 japan 2024 vlog 2 (Turn on CC for more translations!) We spent a lovely few days here at our friend’s place in Yamanashi City, taking in the greenery, searching for Mt. Fuji amongst the clouds, and picking (and eating) heaps of delicious, fresh fruit. Yamanashi Prefecture is famous for their fruits, particularly peaches and grapes. Luckily, we know a few people who eithe...

leaving in just a few hours for a trip to Japan and I gotta pack strategically ✈️ not exactly a guide, but just my process for planning what to pack this summer I feel like I may never have a put together sense of style bc damn I wasted like 90 minutes going through pieces and not being able to pack ANYTHING and even my final outfits aren't the most fashionable... but when you're going to be sw...

end of august - daily vlog # 5 Riley was back in SoCal for a few days, but I was leaving the day after she returned. So we just had this one day to spend together before we'll see each other again in a few months. Since high-school, this has become so much more common, but it's okay. Though I'm always grateful to live where I live, it definitely has its limits on affordable activities to do on ...

end of august - daily vlog # 2 Driving around and talking well into the night is one of the most classic things you can do with friends at home. I guess this adaptation is the movie of the summer? I haven't read the book and I only just learned about the plot through my friends as they prepared me to go see "It Ends With Us" with them. end of august - daily vlog # 1 I've been set on chopping my hair this summer for about a month and thinking about doing it for even longer. As anyone knows, when someone makes a dramatic change to their hair, it's *obviously* bc she's going through something. Idk if I'm "going through something," but I know that I need to actually DO things more than just think about doing them, so here I am. T...

Thank you for your video! How early did you get to the park? Just trying to figure out how early I should get there before 10 am.
never had the pleasure of coming across this channel until today, and I'm so glad I did, this video style gives me LIFE, and the room is lovely :)
What a lovely comment! Thank you so much :)
cute and cozy! 💝
Thank you so much!
I feel like a ton of Yonsei tips and tricks is for the summer program so finding one for a year/semester was sooo helpful thank you!!
I’m glad you found it helpful! Thank you so much for watching :)
i'm going this upcoming spring and im...scared!! the dorm application is in about a week, and i watched your everything you need to know video, and im HEAVILY considering doing an off campus option. its my first time travelling alone...any tips?
First of all, congrats! I think what I would recommend doing is to start looking at off-campus options that you'd be interested in. Would you prefer to find an AirBnB to stay in alone? A goshiwon? Would you look for roommates? Figure out what your plan would be IF you weren't to get into a dorm. If you have already found places/people that you'd like to stay at/with in the event that you don't dorm, start to arrange those options. I would still apply for on-campus housing, since you can always decide not to take it when/if the offer comes. You should have enough time from when you start looking to when you hear back about the dorms to figure out or even start booking your accommodation plans/preferences. As for traveling alone, I think you've picked a great country to start it in! My tips would be to save offline versions of Papago in Korean and English (or any other language you'd use), bookmark every possible location you'd be interested in visiting ahead of time, and to keep a portable battery with you at all times. Obviously, you should always be aware of your surroundings and study up on the language as much as possible, but generally speaking, I think if you have got translation and navigations apps on your phone with an extra charge on you, you'll always have the tools to help you stay cool and confident while traveling. Best of luck on your housing (it'll turn out okay, no matter what you end up doing) and I hope you have a great time in Korea this spring :))
@ thank you so much!! i’m looking forward to it :))
watching this for 2026.
What are these used for Sorry for being silly
love the vibes, keep it up! :)
Thank you :))

Thank you so much!
I’m going to Yonsei in the spring and this was so helpful and cute <3
I’m so glad to hear that! Spring in Seoul will be SO exciting and I hope you have a wonderful time 😊
me too omg!!
Appreciate the video! I was wondering when exactly you went and what the temperature/humidity was? Debating summer travel next year since we can do a longer trip during that time, but worried it will be too uncomfortable.
Thank you so much for watching! We went in late August (I think it was the 26th?) and I would say the temperature and humidity was perfectly mild. However, that was most likely because it was just as a typhoon was hitting southern Japan, and some of the rain was cooling everything down.
love this vlog! can't wait to go back to tokyo. thanks for sharing
I can’t wait either! Thank you so much for watching :)
This is so lovely 🥹 so much rich culture and happy vibes from this vlog 💕 Also you’re so cool! Wish I was your friend 😖
Thank you so much! I'm not sure if I've ever been referred to as "cool," so that really means a lot to me lol :)
Hi! May I know how much time did you spend at the warehouse and at the valley of witches?
Hi! I would say we probably spent about 2 - 2.5 hours there, since we also had lunch there.
@@lynneguine thank you so much! I will need to manage my time there too…
Are you telling me life could be like this?
There’s definitely a universe somewhere in which this is my everyday

this is super helpful, i’m hoping to go to snu for the fall semester next year !! wish me luck for getting in aaAAAAA!!!
Good luck!! I hope you'll be rewatching this as a refresher next summer when you're officially going (bc I'll be manifesting it for you :))
This is so helpful even as someone who's going to Japan + for a whole year - especially the advice about what to pack to cover the range of temperatures! Thank you!
I'm so glad to hear that! Luckily some parts of Japan are a little bit more temperate compared to Seoul lol.. but it's always safer to prepare for all seasons! I hope you have a great a time abroad 🥰
Thank you!!!
Thank you for watching!
I'm heading off to my exchange semester in korea university this upcoming fall! So thank you for your help!! If you have any other recommendations or help, maybe regarding groceries or such would be incredibly helpful.. kind of nervous about the language barrier as well, how was that for you?
Hi! I’m so excited for you! Actually, I recently made a video going more in depth about those sorts of things (“Everything to know about studying abroad in Korea”). I talked about my experiences with my friend Allison, who’s coincidentally also going to Korea University this fall! If you wanted to check that video out (it’s a bit long, but I have timestamps and a transcript), I hope it’ll answer some of your questions :))
Thank you soo much im going to save this for when i plan to go in 2026-28 (depending on the year they let me travel)
No, thank YOU so much for watching! I really hope that you'll be able to go soon :)
watching this like 16 days before I go to Seoul for an exchange program and I've been soooo nervous. Thank you for this video!
Aaaah how exciting! Thank you so much for watching and I hope this helped you sort out a few pre-departure details. Have the best time!
omg me too!!!!
Thanks for your video I will be going next month too and for being so real on the public transport and expectations of solo dinner etc,God Bless
Thank you so much for watching! The transportation was definitely not AS BAD as I think some people make it out to be (at least for my expectations), but it could definitely end up being a challenge depending on what's on your itinerary. If you decide to stick in one area/around one major bus route like I did on Day 2, you should have no problems. I absolutely loved my time in Jeju so I hope you have the best time too!
did you need any specific information to book your arc appointment? like a korean phone number?
No, I didn't need a Korean number to reserve it! I'm not sure if it's changed in the past year, but last year, I was able to book it on the website while I was in the US, when I didn't have a Korean SIM card yet. I think you'll need your visa issued because it'll probably ask for your visa number and info, but I believe that was it.
Where is best to buy a e sim for korea maybe ?
Hi! I actually used a physical SIM card, so I’m not particularly sure about the best e sim options. Everyone I knew was also on a physical sim, so unfortunately I don’t have much to go off of in recommendations.
