You legitimately made me remember and replay this game, really funny video, you guys play off each other well. If you do end up playing more I'm pretty sure the whole open, square, closed thing affects which third of the batting square you can most easily hit (left middle or right), and you can change it mid-throw, but that could just be confirmation bias on my part, it's almost impossible to find info on how certain game mechanics work. Also backyard football and basketball are really fun and silly too.
