same situation in iit kanpur and I am sure in all many old IITs. We are also living triple sharing in rooms of two, and double sharing in a single room. No space left for table and chair for two people in single room lol. Plus we only have one almirah for two people, and no space to put up another. Totally sucks Meanwhile look at the 2nd and 3rd gen IIT hostels, they are so good man. I mean why tf would you like to admit more students if there is not enough room capacity available??? Just admit as many as you can handle, not as many as you can stash like items in a store room
