It took three full days in the dehydrator to make those giant mud pies! Unfortunately, the orange reforms turned out crunchier than I intended. When I dye them orange, I used cold water to dilute the fabric dye, but it ended up staying sandy. Next time, I'll make sure to use very hot water to ensure that the fabric dye fully dissolves. This mix is one of my favorites! The main ingredients are cement and charcoal. Cement is can be tricky to reform so I only make small batches so I apologize for the short video It's the dustiest mix I've ever made or owned, but I love the sounds, the crunchy texture, and the delicious smell! The sidewalk chalk was coated in gym chalk and mud, creating a unique texture. It took four weeks to dry, but I’m glad I was patient because the final result had a satisfyingly crunchy, gritty, and sandy feel to it.
