Добавлен 17 апр 2019
Hi, I'm Elizabeth Odders-White! Welcome to The STANDOUT Professor! The term STANDOUT emphasizes not only the excellent work you are doing, but the many other attributes you bring to your work that make it-and you-unique. A standout!
Here I offer short videos on a variety of topics related to leadership and personal development, such as productivity, self-trust, and mindfulness.
After more than 20 years in faculty and leadership roles at the University of Wisconsin, I founded nodramaturg coaching & consulting to help others thrive in higher education and beyond. Through this channel I hope to reach a broader audience in order to help more people learn to trust themselves and their abilities, and to operate from a solid foundation of authenticity and confidence.
I hope you'll join my quest to shift the academic culture one person at a time!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for inviting us to share questions in the comments. I especially liked "what should we make sure we discuss today" and, coming from an institution where almost no meeting happens without an agenda, I loved "What would make this 30 minutes most helpful/impactful/energizing [fill in blank of what this person needs] for you?" With the coaching mindset, I'm thinking about how to approach my meetings in service to those I'm with. Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing your perspectives! I love how you've tailored the question to focus on the the person's particular needs. Such a great example of a coaching-based approach!
Great advice! I wish I had known them before getting tenured. These skills are still useful for Associate and Full Professors.
Thanks so much! I’m glad you found it valuable.
That has been the only way I can get my creative things done, like my painting or children’s book writing..and it has helped me tremendously!! Especially when feel down that another day went by and I didn’t get anything done 🤦🏽♀️and then I would get depressed about it so yeah, Good job, and keep it up! You got this!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience, Andrea! Good to know I'm not alone. You've got this, too! :)
