Happy to hear you're safe..it's bad enough as it is! I heard that some teens lit a fire for fun and it got out of hand.. is that true? Reminds me of when I innocently burned some pine needles for the smell in the South of France around '77.. luckily nothing happened.. the little bucket of water I had brought probably wouldn't have helped much..🙄🙈🙈🙈🔥🔥🔥🙋🏼‍♀️

Im so glad the fire /smoke ash is not upsetting your lungs, the finer it is the easier it is to get into your lungs… condolences to all the folk affected by this tragedy. It's amazing how the Palisades fire is getting most of the news time! The inland LA Easton fire has now destroyed more homes & businesses & killed/hurt more people. I'm certainly glad your little fire in France didn't get outta hand! That would be terrible to l I ve with. Unfortunately, the "creature" that started our LA fires has no conscience or humanity in themselves. Pure EVIL. Stay safe, dear Lillian! ❤❤😊

There's no chance of any of those fires here! We're in a completely suburban area away from brush areas. These fire areas are very, very near wilderness mountain areas & are in perennial danger. It's lively there, but people don't think it through. So it goes! 😮❤❤❤

LOL. No,the Celtic nation didn't get acclimated to heat until they got to Oz, I heard! Our last heavy heavy rains were in February. Since then, it's been dry as a bone up in LA county. All the vegetation was super dry. We get a bit of moisture from the ocean on the coast in HB, but LA county was prime for a large fire. The Santa Ana winds started up a week ago & some pyromaniac probably started getting the itch to watch peoples' lives go up in smoke! Detectable despicable and demented deadbeats! (To rhyme in alliteration like the Old English used to do!) Well, I'll bet HE is extatic. The poor fire crews have been on duty for al.ost a week. One of them said he hadn't slept for 96 hours! They have set up a huge donation centre at Santa Anita horse race way. People from all over coming out to help. Everything from water & water, clothes & shoes, toothpaste & soap & wetwipes and people openi g up there homes to strangers so they have a safe place to sleep & stay u til they get back on yheir feet. It's a good thing that there are more good people than bad in society. Take care! 😊❤

LoL. There is no such brushfire or wildfires here in HB. As a life habit, I have always kept a lot of camping gear on hand. I used to love going up in the mountains & deserts here. At a moment's notice, I can "bug out" & go walkabout. Plus, I have lotsa "safety equipment", if you know what I mean. No worries here, my dear! Koda darling is safe, sleeping with a full belly, by my side on the sofa, not a care in the world! Stay cool, don't overdo it in that lovely heat I'm really missing right now! 🫂 ❤

It's almost impossible to control these large brush fires when the Santa Ana winds blow! Warmer fast air blowing in from the desert push the flames to the beaches. THEN & only then do these fires stop. Horrendous damage & suffering today. I contributed to a fire relief fund today at the supermarket I went to. There is fine fine ash on the cars down here that has blown in on the onshore winds we are getting in HB. Very minimal wind here now. The heavy ash is going into the ocean. Even the fish & animals in the ocean are suffering! Unbelievable! 😮❤

No problems down here! Only a bit of super fine ash from the fires 80 km away from here on the car. You wouldn't even know there was a fire if you didn't watch the news! Take care, my dear! ❤😊

The winds are back tonight, unfortunately! The firefighters are worn out from these darn wildfires. My next door neighbor picked the perfect year to retire last year. 😊❤

She really is! Here's an historical story about the German Shepherd Dog breed: Max von Stephanitz, the Imperial German military officer who set the breed standards for the Deutsche Schaeferhund, was judging at a dog show and it came down to three magnificent dogs at the end of the showing. According to a British officer who was also a proponent of the breed, Stephanitz pulled out his service revolver and fired a shot into the air! Two of the dogs cringed & cowered while the third growled and looked for the threat! That third dog was declared the winner of the show. Our Koda is and intelligentand athletic dog with a very good nose, fearless with fireworks, doesn't back down, and is curious and unperturbed by strangers, but guarded with them. That's my girl!

Yup! I was watching Sky News justvnow and was surprised to see a UK reporter on the Pacific Coast Hwy up at the big brush fire in the Malibu area. Lotta fond memories of riding my motorcycles up in those steep rural canyons up there. So far, this Palisades fire as they call it is totally out of control in these winds. Several years ago south of me here in Huntington Beach there were fires like these that converted together and the wind blew them thru over 1000 homes to the ocean. That was in the Laguna Beach area. A complete utter disaster that was! Propane canisters were blowing up in a nice mobile home residential there right on Pacific Coast Hwy! I remember riding down there a week later and it was apocalyptic! Nothing that disastrous happens where we live luckily. 😮❤

Do you get brush fires like that on Tasmania? I know mainland Oz gets them bad.😮

@ natural disasters … nothing gets in the way of mother nature. She makes… she breaks. Fires are very frightening indeed. Yes we get fires in Tasmania, mostly well controlled, burn-offs are completed in advance during the ‘off season’ to prevent large scale fires. But occasionally we have runaway stubborn fires which cant be put out . Several years back we needed extra help from mainland australia fire service. It took three days to get fire brigade to thr area , because it was very remote, it took a helicopter a two day trek inland. They were exhausted before they even got to fire locations. The tassie brigade had been doing this for ten days before they needed a break… they were exhausted to brink of collapse. Tassie is extremely rugged and difficult to trek through its terrain. Its a jungle. The east coast of Tassie was hit very bad about ten year ago if my memory serves me right… (which it mostly doesn’t 😆) a town called Dunalley was very badly it, you may be able to find footage of a grandmother sheltering under a river walkway with her grandchildren while a raging fire was over them!… shocking footage really… in general though… the east coast and midlands gets fire the most, as they are very dry areas. Don’t get much fires of any significance were I am located. I would tell you were I live… if only … my troll didn’t drop by here😆.

I was reading about the early tribes in Tassie and their relations & trade with each other recently, so i learned a little about the geography and ruggedness of the terrain. It sounds like a wonderful place to explore! In Canada they have fires that seem to last forever too. We get hit hard in California; it seems that it occurs every year too. I hope all these folks affected have excellent insurance. Just yesterday, there was such an exodus from the Palisade fire in Los Angeles county that the police told people to leave their vehicles & walk out of the area towards the beach! What a mess! Then a bulldozer was shown pushing cars off the road so firetrucks could get into the area to work the fire line. What a mess! This is an especially bad year as we have had very little rain. The footage showed the people abandoning their cars in the streets … the elderly , people with pets etc.. the smoke all around them! Other times footage showed the aftermath, geeez total destruction😮. Yes Tassie has a shocking history ! Don’t get me started on that! 😅. Effectively it was horrific racism theft of land and genocide. Typical colonial occupation really… and land grab. I won’t say anymore. 😁 Yes indeed it’s a stunningly beautiful and ancient island. It has ancient animals too, the only two monotremes in the world. Plus giant crayfish (like lobsters) in pristine temperate rainforest creeks. Dolphins and migrating wales in our seas, eagles and parrots in the sky. Not forgetting the milky way which is seen clearly , the aurora australis often shows too … sunrises and sunsets that dazzle.. the bioluminescence on the sea tides. Jurassic coastlines cliffs, blue and mauve hue mountains , sometimes with snow tops… old timey country villages , the island is largely agricultural based… sheep and dairy farms ..grape , apple, orchards, berry farms, cherry farms , walnut and hazelnut farms, lavender farms, tulip farms , a lot of the islands produce are exported for premium price .. and even premium hops are grown for the Guinness brewery in Dublin! Anyway… Can you tell I love Tasmania? 😅aaaa.

Would you believe she is 90.6% GSD & 9.4% Staffordshire Terrier! Softer guard hair, less corkscrew undercoat, a white T on her chest, some white toe nails & a goofier attitude than any GSD I've ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with! 😂❤

Indeed, she is! She has a lovely coat & markings. She is managing to get enough to eat by the looks of her weight, although I've never seen a fat coyote around here.

I saw one on a leash at a shopping center & talked to the people. They rescued her when her mom was hit by a car. I wonder if there were more of them . . . 😢 💔

This one is incredibly precocious. This is the coyote that nipped Koda on the right thigh, so they have a history. Koda was fairly aggressive with her this time, but I still wanted to keep them apart. The coyote has gotten larger since we last saw this one, so I imagine has she has been eating well. At least I hope so! ❤😊
