      Their enclosures do not smell! As long as you take proper care of your gargoyle gecko, the tank is practically odor free. What you have to think about is substrate that will hold moisture but not to the point of molding or water logging. If you decide to give them a bio active enclosure it’s even easier on your part in the long run!!!

    I hate when people cheap put and use tubs like that for their animal. If you are going to get an animal put the money into giving it a proper set up. Especially for a chinese cave gecko they are very hard to find. They should be misted every day. How many gallons is that tub? 5-7. At that that size I'd have it in a 10 gallon minimum. By the time it is a year old you should be getting ready to put it in a 20 gallon. I'm getting mine tomorrow. To make your care videos better make a list of everything someone would need to know then fill out the actual information before you make the video. There was a lot of information left out. Not bad for your first care video. Don't be discouraged by what I say.

    • @MastemaJack
      @MastemaJack 4 года назад

      @@cyexotics RUclips is kinda dumb with comments sometimes. I've had youtube delete comments before but that was on videos that were about controversial topics not pets. How do you make sure animals that need UVB when they are in them? I do get cave gecko would be one that needs little to no light. I guess the difference between us is you are it seems someone who breeds a lot of animals. I don't so I have the time and money to put into the tank. I also prefer to give more space than required. Hell I used to keep a pet rat in a ferret cage.

    • @cyexotics
      @cyexotics 4 года назад

      UVB is required for these guys. Too much light in the enclosure can actually stress them out. The get very little ambient light in nature living in caves and crevices. Just have to be vigilant with your gecko in a larger habitat. They can struggle to find their prey items at times. You can comfortably house them in larger glass tanks but it’s at the cost of a lot more attention to details. I never want to have a death loss from any animal I breed so I do what’s best for their health over what looks more blessing to look at. Baby survival rate for any reptile in nature is surprising low because of diet and environment. Excluding predation of course. The adult totes I use have a larger foot print than a 20gal long. But babies/juveniles stay in a much smaller easier to control environment til they get to a healthier size. I’ll make sure to include more detail in future videos about different housing options and pros and cons of each. I’m not a big public speaker so getting comfortable speaking on video is probably my biggest hurdle right now.
