I’ve seen a lot of interest in these types of videos from the non-pro perspective. I wasn’t totally aware of how many people felt the same way I do so I’m going to be making a fairly continuous stream of videos about this topic.

i dont think its just corporation. i just find it very hard to believe that the og pros dont have anything to do with this. they could easily go back to the roots/change this if they cared as much as they say they do. i honestly think they like the extra money and less people so that they stay relevant. i mean the reason it was ever like it was before was because of the players, so the reason it is like it is now has to do with the players on some level, particularly the og guys. i think thats why you hear alot of people call it a "friendship league" now because i think they could easily leave franchising and the right people would invest and even themselves could invest in recreating what it once was. theyve made so much money off playing a game, even more so the last few years so i think they could easily do it if they cared as much as they say. they have extra staff/coaches now getting paid, 25M$ buyouts, 55k/a year minimum per player, throwing all this money that isnt making the league better and no pros actively do anything, why? - i just think the money is too good for everyone involved
I definitely think your points are valid. The one thing that makes me think that it would be hard for the players to separate is because of the stranglehold ACTI/Bliz has on the scene as a whole due to the CDL structure. This is one of the big reasons why I have such a problem with fining the players for speaking out: Even if the money is so good, I would like to think, inevitably, someone would take the hit and call them out and affect change. But because of the fine system, players choose the money over any long term improvements.
