Wait when did Snowbowl close
This was the closing day! Pretty fun to ride in June
Looking good my dude!
Appreciate it!
@@vander9003 Anytime my fellow traveler!
I hope you were using your grade b board.
Rated R for rocks! lol
Long live snowbowl. Just a 2 hour drive from 110 Phoenix heat.
Amazing State Az!
What's your summer plans?
Summer season I work as a Grand Canyon tour guide. So just busy with work. But I’ll periodically post Timelapses or videos of hikes I’m doing around N. Az!
Leftovers for sure, but a crazy huge 4:34 line on FRIDAY? . I hope they paid you to ski down that. On the other hand, it is end of May. It's probably 100 degrees in Phoenix.
Hahaha I was jonesing for one last run and had the time to make it work. Amazing how much snow is left, and the fact you can go down bowl and ridge still is wild! Great spring session.
Wow love to see so close to June! Bravo my friend!
Indeed! Amazing amount of snow this spring and I’m happy to be riding still!
Ahhh I thought that Lower falls were Lower and Upper LOL And after I flew back home realized that upper falls are further up. Where is the trail there?
A little north of the trail to Ribbon Falls there is a route up the slope that gets you above the falls. Then you follow that stretch back until you’re back at the creek. Beautiful spot!
@@vander9003 Thank you!
Excellent! Is that easy to set up filming wise??
With go pro it has a built in timelapse mode where you can set everything up pretty easily. The main thing to think about is how long you want it to record for. I usually run it at a rate of taking a photo every 5 seconds. 1 frame every 5 seconds means it takes 150s to get 30 frames. That’s 1 second of timelapse video for every 2 min 30 sec recording timelapse. 10 seconds of video requires 25 mins of recording. 15s needs 37:30 30s needs 75 mins And so on. You also have the flexibility to record at different rates, but just do the math and it’s easy to figure out.
@@vander9003 right on brother I’m gonna try it out!
Nice Late April Shredding! Great to see it!
Awesome April conditions! Gotta love it
How long does the bootup take from the Arizona Gondola to the start of the bowl?
This was about a 40 minute trek up, but there are places to drop earlier if you want. I’d say maybe like 15 minute min tho
Is there still alot of snow there towards the bottom.
Like grand canyon express and lower
You can still ski down to GCX and it’s not bad.
0:47 sounds like some ice under the snow. It's been a good year at snowbowl!
Little crusty underneath 😂 but I’m not complaining, great conditions for April! Another great season at snowbowl for sure
Wow Still Poweder down there? How late the season usually ends in AZ?
Some good snow for April indeed! Lots of years they’ll push it till sometime in May.
@@vander9003 Wow really wound expect such high elevations in AZ. Very cool
Fantastic!
Many thanks!
AAAAAHHHAAMAZZING. Good for you, getting out there in this Freshie AZ white fest!!Love the video.
Thanks! We all know Arizona powder is some of the best in the world, but don’t tell anyone 🤫
Keep Shredding Brother! Nice Run!
Thanks Strider!
@@vander9003 You Bet!
Anyone else see Bigfoot at 0:17 ?
We are not alone 👀 lol
Which trees are these? It looks like maybe the glades between the catwalks but last time I was at Snowbowl I couldn't find a good way to get in there.
Yup! If you drop off the spur catwalk anywhere before white lightning then ride back towards the lift you’d hit these trees.
That last section in the gully is ❤
Turkey Gully has been so fun!
Wowza, what a run. Love your lines.
Thanks! Was trying to stay in the trees as long as I could!
I understand completely. That's the magic place.
Keep flying brother!
Love to see the speed in the powder. Great Video!
Thanks! The snow was perfect conditions for a fast powder day
Wow love the views!
No bad views out there, but this part of the canyon has some of my favorites for sure!
Beautiful
Indeed! Love to see it snowing
Pristine skiing conditions as far as I'm concerned. Little to no wind snowing moderately hard. Lots of cold powder and few people. Perfect.
Exactly what you said! Hit the jackpot
Wow - seems really cold powder. You can hear your breath is shivering.
The cold hung in the air for sure. The snow was heavy, wet, and great for getting in the trees.
I’m planning this trip! It would be my first solo mountain trip as a snowboarder. Is it best to stay at Brian Head Lodge?
I stayed at a vacation rental next to the Giants Steps lift and love it! There where lots of places to stay up there that all seemed pretty good for access to the lifts tho. Have a fun trip, the drive alone was worth it!
Amazing Snowbowl is getting such great powder. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed @c-law! More of the season to go too!
We’re you flying out the bowl part??
Yup! Dropping off the catwalk into the logjam part of the bowl! In the SNOWBOWL
Epic day, too bad I missed it.
So fun to hit a couple powder days in week. That Wednesday was epic too! Should have plenty of snow for awhile now :)
Where's this section at? Gonna try and find it tomorrow. I was trying to find Turkey Gulley today but couldn't find that either
Turkey gully was DEEP yesterday. Bring snorkel
Lol took some swims today for sure 😂
This starts on yogi catwalk and drops into the trees towards boo boo catwalk. Then dropping off boo boo catwalk into the trees takes you to Turkey gully.
I mostly snowboard but started as a skier [and take up both with me} if I know I'm gonna be on the slopes early after a drop like that, my first two runs may or may not be on skies ; )
Haha getting after it! Skis or board, always gonna have a good time on a day like that :)
Was there yesterday too! Epic conditions! Love that trail in the very beginning of the vid. I just discovered it yesterday.
One of the best days ever yesterday! The gully has a great flow to it and is one of my favs :)
What run is this? it looks fun!
Lots of fun! First run they call Turkey Gully. It starts near where Logjam crosses Boo Boo if you look at the the trail map. Next two runs are Sunset and Southern Belle.
@@vander9003 Thank you!
Loveit! That's some awesome powder. I've skied that opening gully many times, unfortunately with not the kind of powder you're surfing.
Turkey Gully is one of my favs! Great place power or not :)
@@vander9003 Thanks for posting your video!
any idea how to to this with the side BOA? Thanks!
I don’t have first had experience with the side dial. It’s a different style that releases via a T6 tool into a central hole it looks like. BOA has repair kits and guides that you can look at here tho. www.boafit.com/en-us/support/repair-guides And you can send them a picture of your broken gear to get replacement or spare. Should come with the special tools you need too. www.boafit.com/en-us/support Good luck!
That was a super tip. Thanks! @@vander9003
You’re welcome! Hope it goes well for you @srduck007
🔥🔥 this looks so good! Can't wait to go back up this weekend! 3 day binge 😎
Can’t wait for the storm ahead! A couple days of fresh snow on top of this! Gonna be a great weekend :)
Epic day! Watched it on my big screen TV and it was almost like being there, which I was.
Glad you made it out! Such a fun day :) I’ll definitely be rewatching this in July when I’m jonesing for snow!
what run did you enter the trees at?
At the top of white lightning, and then immediately go left into the glades
how long of drive, been thinking about sending it
It’s about 5 and a half hour drive from flagstaff to Brian head. Lots of beautiful scenery to look at! I made pit stops at the Colorado River and Hurricane UT. Left at 8 am and was on the ski lift around 2pm :)
Can it be any better than this?
Sunshine and lots of snow! Can’t ask for a better day
4:17 That' some gnarly visibility. Thanks for sharing!
Oh yeah! Some parts of the mountain were wide open nice skies, other parts were next to nothing visibility 😂
Looks like a fresh powder day!
It was! Some of the best snow I’ve been on all season
Nice vid
Thanks Lelelu!
First
Indeed!
❄️ ❄️❄️
Deserts to Snow! AZ/UT is a wild place
Did you dive in off of Spur?
Yeah! Dropped in close to upper volcano then made our way through the glades until we hit the midway catwalk! Great set of trees :)
just skied in deep powder at park city mountain headin home to arizona sadly where i heard its icy but then skiing snowbowl on saturday
Nice :) It’s not too bad after the fresh snow we got a few days ago. We’ll see how it is by the weekend. I’m heading north to Utah this week so we shall be ships in the night my friend.
Good
Yup
