a little japanese language practice is essential for akihabara. say you pass one of those girls dressed as some cute anime sorcerer, so you pull out your phrase book and ask "where is this cafe". When she tells you to go down some random alley and climb the fire escape to the 3rd floor you will be glad you learned enough to understand that. Seriously, all the cafes with easily accessible entrances are basic maid cafes that totally rip you off. the good ones tend to have the most nonsensical location imaginableand only stay open a few months before they either go out of business or move to a premium street accessible location. when they do move they always sell out and become overcrowded tourist traps, so you got to enjoy them while they are still hidden away. These startup cafes will be so exited to finally have a customer you can be sure to get good service.

I just got home 3 days ago from a 2 week stay in Japan. In fact, I was in Akihabara just last Thursday night (8/22) taking in the sites, sounds, and smells. This walk immediately made me miss Japan 😢

I missed Akihabara, hope to visit there again next year in a winter trip!
