I feel like the older you get, the more noticeable it is how little actual screentime these two get together, and it can cause one to question how they even ended up together. But imo the important thing here is that, while it isn't stated outright, Sally is basically the first person to treat Jack as an individual and not as a King. From the very beginning of the movie, you see how Jack feels smothered and aimless --- no one understands him. They all rely on him, fawn over him, never question anything he says, and when he's briefly gone, they pretty much fall apart without him. It's no wonder he feels like something is missing from his life. Fundamentally, I think he's deeply lonely. And he spends the whole movie so wrapped up in trying to cure his boredom and dissatisfaction by becoming someone else that he fails to see what's right in front of him. Someone who has, using her own resourcefulness and initiative, been looking out for him the whole time. Someone who has been unafraid to tell him she believes he is wrong. Someone who sees him for who he really is and not just his crown. Like it's no wonder he's drawn to her once he realizes that. Would it have been nice to see more relationship development? Sure. But Jack and Sally's love story isn't a side plot or window dressing. It fits right alongside the central story of Jack's identity crisis as one of the most important story beats in the film.

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. In my opinion, romantic love should not be on the highest pedestal. In my opinion, parents and siblings' family love is the strongest. Family knows who you are. Romance is fake for lots of people, put on a false persona and romance on most parts gets ugly real fast. For the reality of romance is no Disney love story. Parents and siblings' family love is one of the strongest types of love there is. If romantic love is actually real, it would be one of the weakest types of love there is.
