I Should Have Just Stayed in the Kokiri Forest - Fablesayer - with drums
I had a ton of fun writing this drum part to compliment the incomparable Fablesayer.
This is not my song, I just recorded over it.

Meet Me in St. Louis - "All We Need is a Little Energon, and a Lot of Luck" DRUM COVER
quite frankly, this is one of the best covers ive ever heard!
So very nice to see these young folks doing the music such justice. Chubby vocalist a bit of a "showboat". Just saw Dweezil's show and Frankly... i enjoyed this ensemble work more.
Long time fan of Doreen. You kids have my respect.
2:52 WHERE IS FRANK ❓❓❓ ❤ I CAN'T WATCH THIS WITHOUT FRANK ZAPPA IN IT❤ 3:23
My goodness, this performance just keeps getting better the more videos I watch. "A Pound for a Brown on a Bus" is from my second favorite Zappa-Mothers of Invention album, Uncle Meat. My favorite album is Burnt Weeny Sandwich. Y'all should take this band on tour.
This performance by this University jazz band is absolutely amazing. Zappa would be so proud of your work. "Good night Austin, Texas wherever you are!" That was the last thing Zappa said during his two-night performance and the song Muffin Man at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, Texas. With him on stage, which was a rarity at that time, was Captain Beefheart. I was a student at UT in the late 1970s, and I finally saw Zappa live when he recorded the album "Bongo Fury" those two nights at the Armadillo. I went both nights. Muffin Man was a combination of live and studio production. The entire guitar solo was as performed at the Armadillo. It was his last song of the night, and he wished everyone well in Austin.
"Good night Austin, Texas wherever you are!" is my sign off on all my emails.
Outstanding job, kids. I'm an older man who's been listening to Frank Zappa and his Mother's of Invention since 1968. I saw him in concert four different times over my life. "Holiday in Berlin, Full Blown" is my favorite piece of Zappas of all time. You all did an outstanding job. I'm sure Zappa would be very proud of your performance.
The violinist sailed...bravo!
actually Im busy
A cornucopia of acoustic textures, electric funk, brass rhythms and sprinkled with FZ’s mastery of composition! Brilliant and kudos!!!
Oh…..and I am in love with the violinist! Holy smokes!!!!!
a good effort,,,as slack as my nans pants at times ,,,but keeping the flame lit
To work through Frank's stuff as part of your assignments: What a great musical education.
Nice job....Zappa should be in every conservatory music program in America, fun to play, highly complex and simple, I don’t think there is anyone better at coming up with the catchiest riffs and hooks in rock than Zappa. I will share this history with you folks since I was around at the center of the music scene. I lived not far from the Beacon theater in NYC and went to an Art school. I had my ear to the ground although I had nothing to do with music but all my friends, wannabe rock stars, crazy, and smoked a lot of dope, all thought they would become famous. But hey! What young person does not waste their youth on being young, right? There were only two bands in the whole rock scene internationally that if you were fresh out of a conservatory in need of a job musician; the Mothers and the Mahavishnu Orchestra were your only two choices that applied your talents and skills. If it wasn’t these two bands than you had to find a job in a philharmonic or continue working as a cab driver. These bands were the biggest. The next band to come on the scene was Yes, and following them Queen. All conservatory trained musicians except Frank, he was all self taught. You have to thank Frank for saving your hide from living an incomplete life not of your dreams as serious musician.
wholy moly you nailed the Dweezil solo?!!!! epic!!!!
I like the way they get into the attitude of the piece. 👍👍
Great job.
Great performance and really nice sound mix!
The violin solo is epic!
I'm an old guy, I honestly think frank is more popular today than in my day. I couldn't be happier about that. (Hooray)
Yes
I love...
Isn’t Frank’s music just the BEST?
Tell me what it meant to you
Wonderful and as promised Zappa is remembered.
That moment when everyone realizes, oh he's back there blistering this guitar solo by the way 😮 holy begeezus
needs more clicks!
Was in Berlin 2016. played this over the video I made of my time there. And the trip to Zappa Strazze.
This is one of my favorite Z instrumentals (I generally prefer instrumentals). The 10 albums that are Uncle Meat through The Grand Wazoo are my favorites. Most Zappa fans seem to like his music after Grand Wazoo. To each their own.
Beautiful !
" when I come home... from a months tour-ing ...what a drag ..youve gotta go..even if you'd rather be at home..wait out .in Hollywood
Wow! Very very nice. One or two wonky notes but whatever.
But there's a /lot/ of notes
Guitars were a bit too loud in the mix, otherwise ... 👍
Just great
keeping FZ music alive. Bravo!! 18 souls living the spirit of free speech and expression. No need for "woke" pseudo philosophy. You are what you is ... that's enough
Keeping a critical mindset alive ---- you guys are the future !!
Dopeeeee!
Come on now, blow 😮your harmonica sister!
Moomins are dancing to this. Such nice rich tone!
Great violin!
Okay, couple more.
This literally made my day! Brilliant performance👍 Zappa’s music deserves to be heard by younger generations
kick ass,,,so there is hope for the world
Good try, but you need more hard rock , your to to clean.. you sound like you're not trying to pay taxes , you have to let the shit fall out ..
🪨🪨🪨.
kick ass
Thank you!
They put the eyebrows on it!
Absolutely stunning 😍
I love this tune
He's got the Steve Vai signature Ibanez...............nice! I seriously have got to go to Hilo for one of these performances. The vacuous radio I endured for decades...rarely any media would play Zappa, Tull, ELP etc...had to have my own musical universe. Frank would be proud of both the articulate representation of his compositions, and the wonderful personalization with the adventurous arrangements!
Singing was way off key
Very nice, but you all shaved your Eyebrows.
and your actual point is what ??? I bet they still are more attractive than you or your sista
Why do I get that? 😂
@@B.Poncho Get what? The comment, or the pile of hair in your lap?
@@plasticdadaii8225 The comment, maybe I'm over thinking it. But I thought you were referencing a Dweezil Zappa interview when he broke down the song Montana. He said his dad added a style to his composition that he decribed as "The eyebrows of music" your comment just reminded me of that.
Nice work everyone! And now Frank can join the ranks of the Dead White Male composers who are acceptable for Serious Study! Frank is smiling at this. A couple of fun seasonal references in the jam. Gonna listen to more of you this Zappadan! (6 Dec 2024)
