2025 01 26 Skiing Wildwood
Just a quick 5km xcountry ski around Wildwood in Saskatoon. Quite a popular activity in the winter, and a great use for golf courses in the winter. Nice to get out and do something.

Disc golfing with Kim at Emma Lake in Saskatchewan in the winter. Pretty mild weather, but fairly deep snow. Ribbons are crucial to finding your discs.

Kim and I went disc golfing at Emma, wearing snowshoes. Weather was amazingly pleasant. And ribbons made it possible to find our discs in the deep snow.

I am really impressed by the Potensic Atem 3-Axis Gimbal drone. My first flight was out in the snow. Frozen fingers, but the drone was awesome. I am looking forward to more experments.

Canalboating in Scotland is a little different from England and Wales. And in September/October the weather could have been a lot worse. The eight of us spent a week on a wide-beam narrowboat, the Sanderling. Excellent weather, excellent companions, and in these narrow, shallow canals, a very slow boat.

2024 07 26 SeaSpray Too Windy
Просмотров 3916 месяцев назад
I took the SeaSpray out, solo in 70 kph winds. Too much for me to handle. Fun and scary. Both sailor and catamaran survived with no lasting damage. Problems with the rudders not staying down caused the initial excitement. Then it took me awhile to figure how how to tack in these conditions.

Saskatoon was the first stop for the Canso on its Centenial Celebration Tour. I also had a chance to meet and chat with Harry Shermet, who used to fly this airplane as a water bomber pilot, operating out of Yellowknife with Buffalo Airways. This is a video of the engine startup, and runup.

no sojag thats what happens!
I expect that Darren will be most improved very soon. 😏
... seems there's something wrong with Darren's paddle. 😀
Cool. Great place to practice, as well. With no obstacle avoidance I'd recommend you keep it IN SIGHT at all times. Return to home can result in running into a power line or tree branches. 😀
Hey. That's surprisingly succinctly edited. Thanks.
Thanks Rick. It was a good trip. I am not sure about the video.
Yup, I was very happy to get the cat back onto the beach undamaged. Still, a really fun time.
you made it back! Now a hot shower old guy
two capsizes, better head for home
good thing its easy to right, nice wipeout landing on the sail
70k is hard to handle for sure. You were very busy, nice to get back home with no damage
Forecast said 70 kph gusts, and it felt like it to me 😏. And 70 kph is only 38 knots. Lots of fun regardless.
Maybe not 70kmph winds?
Flew right over me yesterday and I missed it
Ouch!
beautiful
So cute 🥰
Agree. These sloths are just about the strangest and cutest creatures I have seen.
Thanks for the highlights, great one..! PS Noisy Nanaimo.. @ the very end 🙉 Thanks.. leans into the discomfort.. 😊😊 btw what's that quote "there's no bad advertising." PSS Quieter airPlanes using Ballard Fuel cells are coming soon.. we hope?😊🎉
Hi Ben. I think I recognized most of the places I saw in the background. Next time, perhaps place names and longer edits would be beneficial for those who are thinking about that circumnavigation of the Island. Looks like you guys had plenty of windward work, and plenty of wind as well. Good for you! I'm headed back out there this year, northbound from Victoria to as far north as the winds will allow, then run down the coast in the sunshine (hopefully!).
Hi Bert. I have forwarded your comment on to Ben. Yes, it was a most excellent trip. Hope you have a good one too.
Slothy slinking slotho. ❤
Excellent. BUT time to get a drone, as well. 😀
Working on it!
Wow.. That is a really nice looking saiboat -- QUESTION -- What make and model of sailboat is that? It just looks like it has all the good seaworthy parts on it even though it is not a a huge boat.
That is a Vancouver 32, owned by Ben of Squamish Sailing Ventures. It is a British boat, and he sailed it over to Canada about 10 years ago. And yes, it is very seaworthy, definitely a blue water boat.
@@WarrenLongCanada very cool.
Superman - LOVE it. Giant Swing, never again. The last one was with Chartiers and ET.
Orcas Rock
I assume you saved a bit of money doing it yourself. 😀
Also. FIREWOOD.

What was I shooting on? Probably some Sony camcorder at 480p ???
Probably a Panasonic Lumix. It is higher res than that, so I guess iTunes got involved?
Gorgeous water and nice skills
Thanks. It is very satisfying when it goes well. And Baja was gorgeous.
The water is gorgeous there! I was worried you might hit your head when you rolled. Great video of your skills!
Snow shoe ace wow
How about an inside passage with us all in 2024?,))))
Hey Warren! Thanks for the video, it looks to m like the 3 of you had a great time! It's a thumbs up from me 😉✌
Whiteout. 😀
Definitely edited...
😀
Amazing number of otters.
I'm ASSuming the 'string' is to help find a disc buried in the snow. ??
You got it! We are experimenting with both ribbons and wool. Both get twisted up by the spin of the disc. You get some surprising little "hats" on the discs when they spin to a halt without diving under the snow. I had originally started with 5 foot lengths, cut them down to 3, then had to extend them back to 5 feet when I discovered that 3 feet was inadequate for deep snow.
Very cool. Seems safer than a human, to me.
🎉 pr໐๓໐Ş๓
lots o snow on my channel too lol. Niiice shot
Congrats Tiger.

Ouch!
Damn.
👍👍👍
Artig og se en veihøvel i bruk på den måten
Better than using loads of salt, cut the heavy snow layer by layer
What's the monthly cost and what campus?
This is at Burnaby BCIT. I don't know the cost. I think they are at capacity and there is a waiting list to get in. :-(
@@WarrenLongCanada got it, thanks mate
That’s rad.
Such an adorable family!!!
