Entertainment not instruction! We thought we would create this channel just to have some fun, and if in the process we can share something useful with folks well that's a big win! James and I work together nearly every day tinkering on one vehicle or another and haphazardly fumbling our way through most jobs. We're not professionals, and we make no such claim. Basically just a couple of ordinary folks wrenching away, learning as we go, and sharing some bad advice and how not to’s! We truly hope you enjoy what we share.

In this episode we make some progress replacing the rusty floors in our 1978 Chevy K5 Blazer. Replacement panels are hardly available, but we have been able to get rockers and floors taken care of...I think. We hope you will like and subscribe to our channel! @hammersgara...

In this episode we pick up where we left off and try to get at least some of the rust repair on this Chevy K5 Blazer actually done. Pretty sure we got the inner rocker, outer rocker, and at least part of the floor pan replaced. The quality isn't Bitchin' Rides standard, but it's solid...maybe. Our last Ratmaro episode was labeled the final episode, but we just couldn't end it the series without a proper running driving rat rod 1969 Camaro so we returned to FB Marketplace for a second time to find a powerplant that we HOPE will actually run. We think this episode is a more suitable way to close out the Ratmaro series! We hope you will like and subscribe to our channel! @hammersgarage ...

FORGOTTEN Chevy Vega! Pt.2 Can we get it on the road? Clutch and Transmission ISSUES!
Just wait till the convertible top issues and the constant battery issues come . My wife and I bought the same damn head ache . 2008 eos 2.0 turbo convertible. Because it's cute they said . I'm still trying to figure out why it keeps dieing . Already put 2 alternators with in 1 year and now the convertible top isn't functioning. Shit we do for our daughters agreed lol
It took a ton of balls to load her 10 tons of balls to unload her it took gigantic balls to buy her in the first place, and you'll have blue balls when you get done paying for it all, which is exactly why you should call that Camaro blistering blue balls Express.A.K.A the Blue Balled Beauty or 3B's for short
Great job! I love the channel!
Awesome, thank you!
The bolt bin going dry.
That stereo is German quality. Hitler's peaple. I had one back in 1980 with remote. It was a B- Houston
I wish I could make a choice.that way it would be mine.but I like that idea put that motor in the car the way it is.Might surprise peaple. I like the stuff your doing.hasnt hurt me none. I like video. I can really like that car.the roof has ????? But Yes that color is cool
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
I liked this one.Next line of attack. Your favorite tool gotta be either the air tool meat slicer or the Hammer.
Lol
I don't believe anything I see.common since tells me to cut the tip of the tube
Makes sense…
I think your inner fender turned out nice! EVEN IF you had to CUSS at it!
Sometimes that helps, lol. Thanks!
I know you are just Bullshit in us. I know you know where those bolts are.when in need write the governor
Yes I would have to address all the rough things and smooth out as much as I could maybe even fix some of those dents that are easy to fix.maybe even replace the air dam below the front bumper.then put that on
just got a 2007 EOS roof dont work and both back windows. loving the car here in the uk. no need for roof down right now its freezing. lol
I miss those wing windows.and I think it looks cleaner without those marker lights.that shit just cost extra
I agree!
Transmission definitely shot 😂
Ratmaro is a stupid name
Yeah, I should have gone with something genius and unique like Betsy…
Betsy
Looks great! I think you just solved the lighting problem in my 12 x 24 shed.
Awesome!
I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago. Very well done. I love to watch your projects and I'm not really interested in watching a business make a show car. I wish I lived closer to you. I have a 1959 Ford F100. It runs but has several leaks and some non-working gauges. It needs something done to the almost non-existent brakes. I just want it to be safe enough to drive around the country.
Sounds like you have a great project on your hands, best of luck with it! Thanks for watching!
Good job on the center console. The two hole in the side of the console toward the back, that you said were for nothing are for your seat belt. There is a tab on the seat belt plastic that has a little bolt that goes through those holes to keep your seat belt up off the floor so you are not fishing for it. One other thing I have a lead on your roof piece you need I'll email when I get a answer from the guy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Now that’s really good info, had no idea, just assumed someone put holes in there for some useless reason. Yeah let me know on the roof section, that would help a lot! Thanks!
Godspeed my man. Godspeed😂
lol…thanks!
Too much talk.....
Been out of touch with the costs of paint and automotive supplies for the past two years. Went into shock...still saying. " This stuff used to be xxx now it's xxxx.xx. " . It used to hurt my feelings to buy this stuff, now it hurts all over
I feel your pain!
Probably made for the truck lol. Ive used that vinyl stuff with adhesion promoter and it didn't work. I think your not supposed to use adhesion promoter with it.
I always heard otherwise, guess we’ll see how it holds up!
@hammersgarage i actually did it 15 years ago exactly as you did, black over blue, was so bad I tried to get my money back lol
Merry Christmas I enjoy your channel man. The console looks great cool idea. Look forward to seeing you on the next video.
Thanks, and merry Christmas to you as well!
Well I think you’re downplaying your ability to do welding and bodywork. Amazing work on the console. Very very professional job ! Keep up the good work.
Thanks, we’ll keep after it!
Console looks good
Much appreciated!
Instead of bed liner I would use LISARD SKIN. Both heat and sound insulation. It would seal that truck floor and bed up. I used it on my 57. Great stuff!
I’ll check it out, thanks!
Raptor has a liner product that you can tint for color if you choose to go down the bed liner route. Comes in a kit with a sprayer as well.
I use DA with 40 grit to take rust off bed floor
That works too!
You need to invest in super scraper! I did it does great
Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out!
My pops and I just finished the vid. Looking great! The flat steel looks awesome. Wonder how diamond plate would’ve looked. Hard as hell to cut I imagine too 😂
Diamond plate is a pain! But it does look good, thanks for watching!
Merry Christmas good job, enjoy your videos.
Thanks, you too!
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too!
Good job. Looks good.
Appreciate it, man!
digging the progress on the blazer.. im trying to pick up a k5 myself so im following along anxiously .. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, I hope you get that K5 soon!
Need to get myself a heater in the garage. Been too cold to want to be in there. Merry Christmas 🎄
Yeah I hate the cold! Merry Christmas to you as well!
For the trailing arms is it 21 1/2 center hole to center hole? Or outside overall length 21 1/2
Center to center if I remember right.
Great shit
Looks fucking great
Thanks!
When I was at the dentist getting all my teeth 🦷 pulled out with rusty pliers! I said to myself, self I wish I was doing rust repair on a square body Chevy truck.
😂😂😂 Love it!
Awesome little car, and she got one with a VR6 motor?! That's killer!
Enjoyed
Thanks!
OK. I can't take it anymore. I figured someone, or you, would have figured out by now why that pan gasket is leaking. I know EXACTLY why. First, every single aftermarket pan leaks. Especially the chrome ones. There are no Exceptions! To make it worse, if you take it off you will notice upon examination, the overtightening has caused high spots at every bolt hole. look from the side. They have to be tapped flat and another new gasket. It will no doubt still leak, but not as bad. The solution is to get a GM pan. any you find will of course be used, so you still have to flatten the surface. use a cork gasket with Permatex number 2. DO NOT CRANK IT TIGHT. Wait a week and re tighten Never over tighten. The GM pan is 1000 times superior to that Chinese Junk.
Yeah I know, and it has been said by some other folks also. I have the original pan and will swap it back on at some point, no worries. All is well friend!
I have a 85 Blazer that I replaced the floor. I have worked on it off and on for several years. Replacing the floor is a big job. My floor is replaced ,have a few welds to finish and an inner rocker panel to repair. Next big job is the firewall. I dread to even start that. When I see others such as you doing the same work that I have done or yet have to do, it inspires me to get back on the project.
That awesome, thanks! Now go git’er done!
I had to sub.. i want to see more of this .. i myself been thinking about goin to to school for autobody at my old age.. cant do truck driver anymore .
Glad you did, thanks!
Very nice job fabricating, showing the rest of us we can do this!
Thank you!
