Great first meeting with Stanley. Michael must have really impressed him. He wasn't one to suffer fools. Back in 2018 I attended the funeral of Andros Epaminondas who worked on The Shining, Barry Lyndon and A Clockwork Orange. I also met some of the other crew there one of whom mentioned that Billy Boy (In the theatre fight) was actually wearing his camo jacket that Stanley purloined.

I made all the publicity stills for the re-release of A Clockwork Orange. Used the ACO answer print to make thousands of 35mm slides. Did the work at Pinewood while EWS was in editing. Losing Stanley was a horrible experience. I worked for him from the end of shooting of FMJ until he died. I miss him.

Alexandra, learning Greek helps people to improve their mother tongue itself. Greek is not just a language. It's the epitome of languages. It's an honor for somebody to know how to speak Greek.

Alexandra's English is so good now! And I'm so glad for her channel, I love this practical and relaxed way to learn Greek :D

My first ever comment: I was born in 1961 (not the 30s!) in uk and I absolutely do know what “gobbledygook” means ! Fascinating discussion though, thank you for your perspective. I’m in danger of just talking/watching people of my own age group so it’s refreshing to breakout of this. I’m keen on achieving fluency in at least a couple of languages-still working on it - but mixing the task itself with listening to people such as you and your guest talk about languages and learning techniques.

You know what the problem is if you dont speak Greek correctly? Greeks will teas you and insult you.

Modern spoken Hebrew is a very different language from old rabbinical or biblical Hebrew (it's essentially a conlang). So you can't say it's "incorrect" because it's its own language, just like with Old English and Modern English, or Latin and French where you can't say that one is more correct than the other.

I couldn’t agree more with what Alex said about how multilingualism isn’t valued in the UK. I started feeling like an outcast in the UK the moment I became a polyglot. I’d love to live in Greece but I don’t wanna go there unprepared.

I don't buy into the political sham, but it is certainly odd that often times one can't voice their support for the conservative side of the coin without losing family member over it... and to those in the entertainment industry it can be a career ender. The so called conservative side of the coin tends to not take it as personally. I find it odd that someone like Trump can get in office for 4 years and be a full blown socialist who increases spending (including stimulus nonsense) passes through the strictest gun ban in our lifetimes without congress or the legislative process and so called conservatives blindly support their team the same as team D does. Buying into this nonsense is like Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy shyte. I can't believe people keep falling for it, but I'm not going to strike down family members demand the firing for those who still believe in the fairy tale despite the same cycle happening over and over and over again.
