Haven't finished the video yet but the thing that baffles me about Ben Shapiro is that he's the target of *so* much anti semetic hate and yet he still chooses to make his bed with the alt right, while he can claim that his friends personally aren't neo Nazis (though I'm sure some of them are), his friend's friends are. He clearly cares a lot about his Jewish identity but in a weird way he's let his conservative politics take priority over that, to the point that he now has put himself in the position of taking the side of the Christian right even when it's on genuinely Christian things like the "war" on Christmas. Edit: Also once again with Ben Shapiro specifically he would never claim that anti semetism isn't real, but he's decided that the Christian right is his ally against anti semetism, or maybe once again he just cares more about being a conservative.

I'd love to try one that is Celtic/Welsh influenced that later gets influenced by Anglo Saxon in the same way French was heavily Gaulish/Celtic influenced and then affected by Frankish. I'm working on an Italo Romance Romlang that has a dual case system like Old French and Old Occitan did. -us becomes -ozo preserving the nominative while the oblique singular is -o. Instead of plural -os evolving -ois -oi -ei -i like the accusative plural probably did in normal Italo Romance -os becomes -ozi giving a contrast between nominative plural -i and accusative plural -ozi.

As a Swede who knows Icelandic, Old Norse as well as Spanish (been interested in Portuguese for many years too) I find this conlang refreshingly original both from a linguistic standpoint as well as the video concept, I really enjoyed the conversation between Jóhansson and Maquíver. Oh, nice! This is pretty interesting. I will keep my eye out for the full one. I am Faroese myself so I am interesting in seeing what you come up with. I see that you have the diphthong /oa/ with the first element being the non-syllabic one; well, we have the "same" diphthong but with the latter part being non-syllabic, it also seems to come from the Old Norse <á> which makes sense. I do find it interesting that the front rounded vowels survived, I would have assumed that <fyra> and <grøn> were now <fira> and <gren> because of Portuguese influence. But as I say, looking forward to see more.

I am not Icelandic so please correct me if I'm wrong but: I would assume addressing Jóhann Jóhannson with his patronym Jóhannson sounds less natural than addressing him as Jóhann, just like we do not constantly address Thor with "son of Odin" instead of his name. Yet maybe this is exactly the joke - were that the case please just ignore me.

I personally would also add the palatal nasal ɲ, a sound found in Spanish (Ññ) and Italian (Gn). Italian Contranctions: (Prepositions) Al, Alla, Ai, Alle, Al', Del, Della, Delle, Dei, Del', D', Nel, Nella, Nei, Nelle, Nel', Sul, Sulla, Sui, Sulle, Sul' Also: L' Finally, "We saw the dog jump over the fence." in Бриттаниан: "Нос хан вид ля кэн я салт собря ля фэнс." (I used "ya" for the schwa sound.)

Have you ever heard of Brithenig? It is a conlang that was created for the Ill Bethisad timeline which is similar to what you're going for: the Celts in Roman Britain adopt a Romance language and it evolves into the present.
