  • @yo5289
    @yo5289 4 года назад

    First of all, Ideena, not Ideyena. Second of all, the way Idina is singing is the way she is SUPPOSED to be singing. Yes, she's using her head voice and not her chest voice; but that is, again, how she's supposed to sing this song and how her voice is unique. She is also SUPPOSED to jump up to the note; it's kinda how the song was written. And, I wouldn't be critiquing a professional singer/actor if you can't sing yourself. As a side note, poor woman is probably sick from it being in New York in the winter! She was also in the middle of Christmas song covers and fame over Frozen.

    well i know that it's been like 3-4 years ago, but no defense yes she's pushing her voice a lot and stretching the larynx and this is not opera love the way you explain the technique even though i didn't understand that much but, hope that you can approach some new modern genres of music! if you read my cmt i appreciate that

    • @vivalavoice
      @vivalavoice 3 года назад

      Thanks for the comment Sage. Singing, when done correctly should be effortless. If you're voice or body are getting tired then try letting your breath support and body power the voice, not the throat.

  • @maxkaddell

    I kind of have fast vibrato. I can do slower, but it doesn't seem stable enough. I guess I used to have a problem with adding too much vibrato, and toned it back, kind of lost some of the vibrato ability. Either way, I was always being told that I would sound better with less, so I went for that, even on songs like Ave Maria

    • @vivalavoice
      @vivalavoice 3 года назад

      Hi Matt. You can control your vibrato but have to be careful that by doing so, you don't cause tension or constriction that will impede the 'flow' of your voice. Just experiment with different speeds of vibrato and using it when you want to. Sometimes too much vibrato gets in the way and can be distracting.

  • @maxkaddell
    @maxkaddell 5 лет назад

    Nice "ee" sound vibrato exercise. I can get enough for a pop, country, rock song, but it's not opera level vibrato. One of my favourites to sing is Past The Point of No Return too. Been a while, probably rusty on it. I used to like the Phantom of the Opera song, but not a big fan on singing the ending.

    I watched this yesterday. I have a couple Groban songs I try to sing, but I don't really know that song very well, so I thought about what you said while I sang last night. It really helps with staying within my octave when I try to stack the sound. It's kind of tricky right now, but I shall practice 😀 As much as I'd like to sing like Groban, he is an octave above me, so I'm better off aiming for Cornell, who was also legendary! Serj Tankian sings mostly metal, but I really like his voice too, both baritones with incredible ranges, and a box of techniques. Sometimes mid metal song, Tankian will hit a couple opera sounding notes

    I am pretty sure Josh has proven himself loved by millions for singing just the way he does. If everyone keeps wanting to change other people's styles to some universal "perfect" version of singing, we will take away the beauty of individuality and personal taste. Josh Groban's singing is close to perfect, compared with many many other popular singers.
