Wow! That Riv is awesome! Wanna bet it's still in the same condition today it was back when this video was uploaded to RUclips and the value is WAYYY UP THERE!
I watched a lot of this video. A lot of talking about things I don't care about. I wanted to know what the axles are out of? Shackle reversal? Spring over? What did you use for a pitman arm? What does it have for gearing
I bought a new 1965 Riviera. My dream car all of those years ago and now again after seeing the beautiful restoration. Mine was light green with matching interior, fabric. What a car!
This generation of Riviera has a very unique frame design called the crucible. It's like a big X , to distribute the weight of the car more evenly to all four corners. With posi the frame helps keep all that torque and horsepower under control.
This is THE ultimate Riviera design; no other model year Riviera can stand up to this one for sheer no nonsense elegant design. This one is so much more European in appearance. This includes the unparalleled interior design ( compared to other GM's ) My number one choice if I can choose to have an American vintage
I bought a 1962 Econoline deluxe falcon club wagon in '64 and with 4 kids we went everywhere on all day trips in New England......Plenty of room for a nap for the kids and to play board games .........We ate in the van also when it rained......
I've seen several here in California, where it seems you can keep a car for life if you want to, as opposed to the Great Lakes region where many of them rust out after a seven-year period!
The narrator, NOT the owner, is obnoxious as hell w/his CONSTANT interruption of the owner's explaining the car to the viewer! The narrator comes off like he's frustrated w/the owner's delivery...impatient...& regretting letting the owner speak for himself! Very unprofessional & uncomfortable to listen to! Should've just shutup & let the owner speak!
Some of these comments people wrote were almost worth commenting on but if I wrote what I wanted to say I would probably be in trouble that car is awesome and the paint who gaf about the clock or the horn bar or their comments as far as that goes. Maybe I'm wrong but come on I wonder if that guy that has a riv like yours has a brooklyn bridge also LOL
We have a 1965 Econoline with under 9,000 original miles. It still has the original tires. It was used as an ambulance in an open pit copper mine in Tucson, AZ. It’s rust free. I might be looking to sell it soon.
Beautiful truck. Been restoring my 1962 Chevy C10. Some things are similar, like what appears to be the muncie sm420 transmission you have. Love that old 4x4 stance.
This IS the holy grail of all the 1st Generation Rivs...gotta love the hidden headlamps behind the vertical light pods which opened like a clam shell... ...this restoration is superb, and represents hundreds, if not thousands of hours of tender loving care...nice job!! ...this livery of Bamboo Cream, accented by actual walnut veneer makes for an absolutely stunning example... ...this car is off the charts!!
By Y2K when those who wanted a duramax powered suburban or Tahoe had to do it themselves when by 2021 when the 3L duramax I6 available in the suburban and Tahoe as an option.
Funny you say that. I just watched a 64 GTO video and in it the owner said the same thing you did which I never knew. He said it was still an option so they'd put it in the trunk which he had on display. It was what looked like a brand spankin new Tri power for the 389.
I had one just like that, same color even.
Air conditioning was a $430 factory option for these cars 1965. Adjusted for inflation, that's almost $4,300 in today's $$$.
One of the cleanest Duraburbs I’ve seen

6 years later, I continue to come back to check this out. It’s the coolest Dmax Suburban I’ve come across and wish I could have bought it then.
Really nice piece. Clean!
What is the size of lift , rims and tires . I ready to buy for my 75.
I like the paint job🔥🔥🫵🏾
You sell what you want you by what you want
Why wouldn't you install period correct wiper blades
What a gorgeous car !! My favorite design ever the 1965 Riv Gransport oh how nice these were. They don't make cars so beautiful anymore
The owner would probably never sell the car but could see this hammered at over 200K at Meachum in 2024.
Hat brand bumper is that looks awesome

I wonder if these old van Ford engines are reliable?

They should’ve made surburbans and Tahoe’s with the Duramax from factory

@@daniellibich1376 if only the 6.6l Duramax was available as well from factory
The only thing wrong with this car is that I'm not behind the wheel & it's not in my garage. The color matches my house.
I’m from Saudia Arabia My name is Abdullah Faleh My phone is +966555600624 Please call me or let have your phone I’ll call you Tanks
one of the nicest of the Riveras ever built
GM wouldn't sell you A/C with dual quads.
